As the title reveals this property is the best location ever. Situated right next to the Melbourne Town Hall. Shopping, Theatre, Restaurants all within a stones throw. I have stayed here 3 times. Yes it is a bit shabby & is in need of a makeover but if it has one I'm sure it would be $600.00 a night. The...

The location was perfect for travellers wanting to see what Melbourne has to offer, so central that it was easy to catch a tram anywhere if you didn't want to walk. Housekeeping were a little slack - Im quite sure they never cleaned the shower (but maybe thats what you get with an apartment vs a hotel). Front staff were...

We purposely chose an apartment hotel because you get more space and if one of you is up in the middle of the night with jet lag, you don't disturb the other person. We had a big 1 bedroom apartment on the top floor at the back of the building. That was because we'd requested a quiet room, and that's...

Very central to access anywhere in Melbourne. Unit was very neat and clean. Kitchen was a good to have when staying a few nights. Very accessible to all the restaurants and shops. Great place to stay if you have children and need a bit of space.

Stayed here for 2 nights for a work meeting. Plus size is great location, central to everything and large apartments. Kitchen is big and has everything you need. Down side is the apartments are very old and in need of some serious refurbishment. Beds are old and hard, double not queen. Our shower had a very small glass screen down...

The room was not large but well laid out. The cleaning could have been better (dead insects in the window, the shelves in the kitchen area needed cleaning, used cotton pad behind dust bin in bathroom) - but nothing alarming. The kitchen items are budget quality, but I found everything in working order. The aircon is inside the room...

Adara Collins is a great place as far as location is concerned. Located opposite The Regent Theatre and 5 minutes walk to Federation Square, it is so convenient to go anywhere around the City and to find great food outlets. service is ok. Front desk girls are knowledgable when u ask. Did not volunteer information. Room's view was not so...

Very handy to top end of Collins Street. High end shopping, Theatres, restaurants, room rate good value for money. If you like Japanese food, restaurant in ground floor off entrance. Bar just outside front door. A comfortable "hideaway" to launch yourself from

This is a comfortable inner city hotel right in the heart of the city. It is within walking distance to most major attractions. The staff are very helpful offering information without having to ask. The rooms are comfortable and clean, although our bathroom could have done with an upgrade. Overall a pleasant stay.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
