Everything was excellent service from front office, housekeeping and a very nice breakfast. We had a girlie shopping weekend , mother, aunt and daughter in law.Able to shop drop bags-when it gets to heavy and continue shopping .Central for everything.

Great location. Great renovations. Breakfast expensive at $29ea. So found a local cafe and had a hot breakfast for under $10. Unfortunately the spa was closed for renovations, and the pool was cool. Even my kids didn't want to swim in the pool. So not sure if the pool is heated via the spa. Otherwise great place to stay

The Novotel is an ideal hotel for a wonderful stay in Melbourne. Its central location is perfect for exploring the arcades, laneways, gardens and galleries of this beautiful city. It was also a short stroll to the vibrant Federation Square and Flinders St station and main tram stops to outer areas. We booked a Premium room on the top floor,...

Location is great and the Hotel modern but service can be extremely inconsistent. Room Service this time was late and food quality poor. Placed my breakfast card outside my room and was not collected and neither was the previous nights tray. Rang to follow up and no response.. Pathetic service but the hotel itself is ok but you have to...

Situated above Australia on Collins, this is a hotel gem. The rooms are big and spacious. The bathroom is modern and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast included is great. Got a good deal on a room for a wedding. They were accommodating and didn't charge extra for things even though I was expecting to. There...

Stayed here a few times but never had an internal room before. Great for moles but grim for humans. Sunday breakfast is carnage so go early or face a long queue. Renovations should be finished soon but wouldn't go back unless an external view was guaranteed. Great staff though.

We stayed here for one night at the beginning of Feb for a special occasion. I wouldn't have normally thought of this hotel but it was close by to where we were going and the description said it had been renovated recently so I thought 'why not?'. As other reviewers have noted, the ground floor entrance isn't luxurious by any...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
