My family love this hotel - opposite the park, near the no. 35 tram, close to the footy grounds and within walking distance of Melbourne's street art laneways, galleries, shops and restaurants. The rooms are excellent and the staff are personable, discreet and helpful. We have stayed at this hotel numerous times and we can only find one fault -...

When we booked in we were most impressed with the friendly service at reception, we were advised we could upgrade to Privileged room at a cost of $15.00 per night, which we accepted. The rooms were comfortable, however I would have expected a DVD in the room. We did not have breakfast, however we did have dinner and both of...

Thank you for your review and I was pleased to read that overall you enjoyed your stay. I was however sorry to note that you were delayed upon checkout. I am looking into why there would be only one reception member on the desk during this peak checkout time, this is most unusual. Please accept my apology that this occurred....

First time in Melbourne was not a disappointment when it came to cleanliness, location and overall service. Close to transit systems and easy walking distance to the MCG, Federation Square & Flinders Street Station. You cannot get a better continental breakfast, period! I highly recommend this place.

Small rooms, leaking shower in the tiny bathroom, had to wait for a non smoking room after I checked in as the room had clearly been smoked in. Parking is also a ridiculous process and was overcharged. It's cheaper to park through an independent parking provider than go through the hotel.

We have stayed at this hotel several times over many years so it was a pleasant surprise to find it has been renovated into what I would call trendy décor. It looked wonderful. The value was good too, I am a member of the accor group and the offers were very good, even had a $50 credit to spend which...

Loved the room, great renovation. In Melbourne for the Swans game so very easy walk to MCG. Great that they had happy hour and special footy meals so pre game atmosphere was great. Easy walk to centre of town and tram stop within two minute walk and great park across the street. Next time will look at room with a...

Very clean and value for money. Good meal options. Room was very spacious and bed comfortable. Only negative is the entrance to the hotel from the street which is by about 10 steps high and the steps are at different heights, Very difficult to negotiate with luggage and would be almost impossible if aged. The reception for the hotel is...

Very good location opposite attractive gardens with proximity to major sporting venues and the CBD. Staff were courteous and professional Duty manager Andrew in particular went out of his way to assist. Room standard however is basic, small rooms, decor dark, and lighting insufficient. The room had not been vacuumed, part of a biscuit and crumbs on floor by window and...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
