Excellent service, comfortable spacious rooms, friendly accommodating staff. The dining experience is fantastic and caters to most tastes and although it's located in the CBD, it's very reasonably priced.

Stayed in the Grand Hyatt with some colleagues on a weekend planning retreat and had a double room. The room was okay however looking a little tired. Unfortunately the double room was only King singles so a little uncomfortable compared to other hotels in the city with double rooms. The cleanliness of the room was slightly lacking with the in...

As the name says it, the lobby is grand. There are 2 approaches to the hotel - via Russell Street where taxi will normally drop you off (concierge lobby) while main lobby entrance is via Collins Street. Shops surrounding area of hotel are mostly branded but it is a short walk to Chinatown, main shopping and public transportation areas. The...

Stayed for only one night on vacation with my family of 5. Service was warm and efficient. Property well up kept and very centralized location. Not nearly enough cafes but there was a few 350m away which serves really good coffee and brekkie, same for a 7-11 as well. Room was well maintained and had a great view. We enjoyed...

Big hotels in city centres can be soulless and the polish and marble can reflect nothing. That is not true at the Grand Hyatt in Melbourne. Staff are excellent, friendly and exude a relaxed Australian charm - and it is worth paying extra for the Club Rooms and the spectacular setting of the Club Room on the 31st floor for...

Friendly staff, nice gym, good quality food. Overall room may be improved, considering the premium reputation of the brand. 1. Noisy water pipes when other guest used showers, etc. 2. Shower head did not work properly. 3. Uncomfortable bed - the hotel joined together 2 single beds, really hard in the middle.

generally a nice hotel, decent location, not too expensive, nice staff, but my room had 2 single beds - seems inappropriate for an adult travelling on their own - pipes / shower next room was noisy. Probably expect more from a grand Hyatt in a major city

Took the wife to Australia for her birthday and spent 4 nights at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne on the first leg of the trip. I have been a Hyatt Diamond member for a while now, so I do have so reference as to how this hotel stacks up to others, and I have to say I was impressed. Not only...

Located in the heart of Melbourne. Central to the sites and restaurants. The rooms comfortable and roomy with classic views. The breakfast buffet is one of the best. It offers a large range of choice. Egg dishes, pancakes, waffles, smoothies all made to order. Also a range of cheese, meats and Asian choices.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
