From check in until check out the hotel lived up to the high standard you would expect. The king room had a great view of yarra and sports precinct. The room had all amenities with stylist fixtures and fittings. With Tea 2 teabags, free wifi and extensive pillow menu. Would highly recommend and will return for sure.

The Grand Hyatt Melbourne is very understaffed. I think it might be because of the very low room rate (due to demand and other competitive 5 star hotel rates) they are not able to hire to the standard service level when compared with other big city Grand Hyatt hotels. Being understaffed means not getting the 5 star quality service that...

The Grand Hyatt is without doubt in an excellent location. The Paris end of Collins St is on your door step. The decor is elegant and minimalistic and the amenities of a good standard. The distinct impression we were left with is that customer service is perfunctory (an afterthought). This is not the establishment where the staff will go over...

Simply professional from check in to check out. Always a joy to stay here a bit of luxury during the Christmas break. Make sure you include breakfast buffet with your stay. The Grand Hyatt has a great zen and flow when entering perhaps it's the beautiful sculptures and carefully considered decor. Great gym and restaurant. The beds are just so...

I have been staying at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne for over 20 years. Some things have changed, but a lot of things have remained the same. Clearly one of the best central locations in Melbourne and the sweeping views East to the MCG and South over the Yarra River and North towards the airport have never been compromised as the...

End to end a good business hotel. Reception always greets you very politely and efficiently, rooms are a good size with very good bathroom. Comfortable beds and I like the inbuilt wrap around sofa. The restaurant is a little hit and miss with some occasions of less than helpful staff.

I would suggest to move the beds and vacuum everywhere, I dropped my phone and had to move the bed to retrieve it and the amount of fluff and whatever else may have been in the corners was actually quite disgusting . We had to ring as there was no shampoo or conditioner in the room and then had to...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
