The room was not as big as I first thought it was, my guest had a sleepless night, the receptionist was friendly and polite. I was unexpectedly asked to pay a bond i was not made clear aware of in the beginning.

hotel was decent but pretends to be more than it is. right from the start, reception is a bit dirty - armchairs are grimy and old - the room was comfortable but not super clean. bathrooms was from the 70's and it was difficult to get warm water or heat the bathroom - very traditional australian :-) but for me...

This hotel is situated conveniently in the city and has great access to on-site food/restaurant and in close proximity to some of the best restaurants in town. Staff are efficient and friendly and the amenities are clean and tidy. Roof top pool is divine.

Stayed two nights with breakfast, mentioned that the room was a little tired looking, and Andrew gave us another fantastic room that night. The hotel is being slowly renovated and if all the new rooms are like the second one, we'll see you again soon. Breakfast was great, with very helpful staff who looked after us very well. We will...

Nice overall. Disappointed with the view as I was expecting something other than a concrete wall as was advertised online. Not happy with the parking which was separate to the hotel and would not have trusted my car with the 'valet'.

Really loved staying here. First of all valet parking under hotel at a really reasonable rate compared to the rest of town. The Staff here are brilliant and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast was also nice and well prepared. Would definitely stay here again.

Great spot close to china town. Close to most shopping. Short cab ride to Lygon Street. The room we stayed in was quite small and was tidy. There was no room safe which was disappointing for us. The fixtures were in good condition. No view but we didn't come to melbourne to stay in our room. Bathroom a little cramped...

We upgraded to the king room on arrival which was excellent - we were also able to check in early which was great after an overnight flight. Room was great and very clean, as was the rooftop pool. Location was great, we walked to everything including CBD, Federation Square, Fitzroy etc. Great trip!

I have stayed here at least 10 times and I have been very satisfied with the service , the food and the rooms. The secure undercover parking also gives great peace of mind, plus you are within walking distance of the C.B.D.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
