a good small hotel in the city. The location is making us easy to go shopping, eating and easy public transportation. The room is small but ok, the staffs are also ok. WiFi is only available at the lobby.

We always stay in this hotel when visiting melbourne. It is cheaper than a lot of the others and is not quite as flash but it is right in the middle of the shops. This is great for Christmas shopping and to have a wee rest

I found this hotel great for an overnight stay in the city. It is well located and comfortable. I checked in and went out and then came back to sleep and went out again next morning. It was great from that point of view but I did not use the services except for the baggage storage area as I was...

Having booked this hotel for my wife and I, and our friends, I was shocked to discover how poorly the hotel was cleaned and maintained above the ground floor. For the pricely sum of £75 per night, when exiting the lift on the tenth floor, we were greeted by carpet so thick with dirt on the edges that it's patern...

Booked this hotel through booking.com. Booking and special request for baby crib was confirmed. Arrived at hotel at approx 1.00am. Taken up to room - no baby crib in room. Was advised no request for crib made - our booking reservation confirmed we had indeed requested a baby crib. Staff member inferred if booked through booking.com this was evidently the...

Dear oscar3008, Thank you for taking the time to write a lengthy feedback after your recent stay with us. Unfortunately, like most organisations, our systems and our staff are not 100% foolproof, and from time to time this results in us not delivering the service or comfort which we aspire to. We are very disappointed to read that we seem...

I stayed in different hotels under the Mercure brand in various cities and this one is fairly what you expect for a Mercure hotel. Location is very good, in the heart of the city centre. Reception staff is nice and good. However, housekeeping can be better. We had two rooms and one day the housekeeping completely missed cleaning one of...

The perfect location, right in the centre of the life and soul of this exciting city. Though it is a little 'tired', the rooms are comfortable with tea making facilities, fridge and hairdryer, walk in shower and everything is very clean. The staff are very pleasant and helpful and the restaurant, 'Louden' serves a fantastic breakfast for $20. There is...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
