Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.

Terrible stay. Check in took too long. Air conditioning broken which lead to poor night sleep. Hotel solution to move room in the night not practical given close to midnight. Offer in morning of free breakfast to compensate for sleeping in sauna not good enough. Never again.

Always love to stay here. Got one of the older rooms but still very happy with the room. Vegan breakfast (acai bowl) one morning was a real hit. Coffee made soy and beautiful. Only problem was one morning we left the "we are awake please make up our room" sign on the door at

When is the renovation ending?
The renovations are occurring floor by floor. I never heard them and did work in my room some part days. Floor 2 is finished.

We didn’t have a car so can’t help you. However it did seem to be in an area of narrow one way streets. Perhaps you could phone the hotel directly for more advice.

The self-parking is about 5-10min walk away and it’s 15aud a day / entry. Meaning you either leave your car at the car park for 24 hours or pay every time you want to drive out the car. If you park with the hotel’s valet, its 45aud a day but you can retrieve the car from the valet as many times as you want. Just that they require a 30min advance notice. I believe that the place that the valet parks the car is the same as the place you have to self park. However, you can drive to the hotel and drop off your belongings first then go to the car park. The valet allowed me to do that with no additional charge. Hope this helps!

Best way to travel to and from the airport? Is their a shuttle bus that stops here?
I think it's better to use UBER than bus.
