I'm in two minds about this hotel. It is very reasonable in price so I wasn't expecting a lot. Positives: The room itself was very small but everything is quite new and very clean. The bathroom was very small but nicely fitted. Bed was comfortable as well. It has a small "kitchenette which can be handy but I wouldn't be...

My partner and I stayed in the Studio Apartment at City Edge on Elizabeth for two nights in July. The reception staff were very efficient in checking us in and out of our apartment. We found they were very knowledgable about Melbourne and happy to make suggestions about what tourist attractions to visit. We really liked how City Edge has...

Broken fittings, poor lighting, broken furnishings are just to name a few and not to mention poor air conditioning. Location is good for university students or those using central station but that is it. Not recommended but i guess you get what you pay for

This hotel has a great location and that is where it ends. Basically no customer service standards at all. Be aware you can only check in till 9pm, then you have to call a number which pass you around from hotel to hotel before you finally speak to someone you need to. They have menu options but every time I...

My husband and I stayed in a studio room while Melbourne! We got it on sale for $99 a night. Great location, nice neat room! It was a little bit loud on the Saturday night however being right in the heat of Melbourne I wouldn't expect any different. Will definitely return!

Even though I had changed the date of my booking some weeks before the checkin date, the booking disappeared and I was booked into another site further away from the MCG where I was scheduled to attend. As it took over half an hour to check in I incurred a parking fine. Wanted to book a shuttle to the airport...

We stayed 6 nights here. I booked 3 separate apartments for each family. We got there a bit early so the management offered to place our luggage into lockers until it was check in time. The apartments are small we stayed with a baby and had a port-a-cot the took up all the room but we really didn't mind. They...

Experience was terrible. Had my laptop stolen by the hotel staff, lack of securtiy, poor camera footage prevented the police from charging them. The Operations Manager directly admitted that only staff have access to the rooms and that they know of the missing camera. Only stay if you're willing to pay in more than just cash!

We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment - 2 adults and 2 children. The apartment was nice and clean with everything we needed. The location was absolutely perfect, within walking distance to everything, lots of little cafes and restuarants nearby so you didn't have to venture to far, also a little convenience store nearby. We received free wifi vouchers for...

The price is fair and the location is good. It was clean and tidy but tired. If you on business or travelling the one thing to remember is that the office does not open till 8.30am so any early transport requirements, especially to the airport is a problem. Advertised as free WiFi but limited to 2 hours a day.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
