It is fortunate that the architecture of the hotel is not what I am reviewing. Whoever allowed this brutalist edifice to be built in the heart of such a historic heritage area should be the subject of a plaque on the wall to commemorate their crimes. For the tourist the location is superb. Very quiet and only ten minutes walk...

Room was quite good, but back to bars - there are no bad beers, just some better than others. This hotel is just a short walk from the Salamanca strip of food and drinks. But the bar food and the more exclusive dining room at the POW avoids the walk if weather or apathy strikes. The bar, dining room, and...

We were looking for a reasonable priced meal and were surprised to get 2 t bone steaks, a side of veggies, a pint of beer and a glass of wine for only $42.00 Amazing It was clean, pleasant and we will go back!

We had dinner here for 4 people . The hotel is located in the quaint part of Hobart called Battery Point. The food was of a good quality and the beer was nice and cold. We dined on a Wednesday night and the bar was packed . We ate in the restaurant but were still able to order the bar...

Excellent location for Hobart, we would happily stay in Battery Point again. Customer service at the hotel was good, the room was clean, except the furnishings and everything in the room was extremely dated - the bed was sagged and not comfortable at all - possibly the worst hotel bed I've slept in. 'Breakfast' was not what we expected, slices...

Staff were friendly, meals options were well priced and good variety, accommodation was poor. Window locks broken, towel rail broken, bathroom door wouldn't stay closed, carpet dirty, and hair in or on both beds and in shower. Did not stay the night. Would have been good value if it was clean, as is in great location.

Great welcome! Good beer, stout, nice and dark, I miss the English winter! The beer and food was good quality and satisfying. A mix of bar menu and restaurant menu needs to be sorted by management. A great choice though, beer, wine all very good. Shame the oysters were off! Loads of information for us travellers of the world, Tasmania...

I stay here a lot for work. The rooms are simple but very clean and comfortable. The staff and locals are always friendly and it is an easy 5 min walk to the Salamanca precinct. The Pizza shop next door is really nice too.
