My wife and I stayed 4 nights at the Fountainside in May. Room and bathroom were clean, good amenities and bed was comfortable. We requested the 6th floor as we are light sleepers. Large flat screen tv with foxtel was a plus. The mini bar can't be beat for prices. Location was great, walking distance to the waterfront, Mona ferry...

I stayed on floor 2 and 3. The hotel is right on a main roundabout. And I also had the fortune of having rooms right near the noisiest elevator in the world. Had to turn up the tv to drown out the traffic noise. But clean and comfortable.

The Fountainside is a good, reasonably priced option in a great location, an easy walk to the waterfront and well situated for the longer walk to the botanical gardens. I appreciated that the front desk clerk paid attention to my request for a quiet room and thoughtfully explained why she thought the top-floor room she chose was the quietest. We...

We have just come back from a 4 night stay at the fountainside hotel. The hotel is in a great location short walk to all the shops & restaurants in Hobart and the waterfront. We were on the top floor in a superior room and it was really great. The mini bar prices were very reasonable and the full breakfast...

As a regular visitor to Tasmania, I've stayed in a couple of 4 star rated hotels in Hobart. This was my first stay at the Fountainside and I can honestly give it two thumbs up however two minor issues need addressing. The first is the much talked about noise issue raised by previous reviewers. After talking with other guests on...

Spacious room in a bit outdated hotel. Not the best location but still in a walking distance of the harbor. Really noisy elevator so if you can choose the room, choose one that is far from it. Breakfast only average.

Nice receptionist. Room is spacious with a nice view. The items at mini-bar is at good price. Breakfast is good with reasonable price. Acceptable walking distance from the hotel to Salamanca Market. ps a nice steak restaurant, Hogs Breath Cafe which is very close to the hotel. Try this, nice dishes with reasonable price.

We touch down in Hobart on Saturday and would require a 1 night stay, we chose Fountainside Hotel. Location was good as plenty of parking onsite at the hotel and could easily walk down to the harbor wharf etc.. Room size is good, spacious. Reception lady was very helpful. However the linens on the bed was really dusty with cottons...
