Very clean, welcoming and friendly place. Highly recommended. I'm normally a very fussy person when it comes to accommodation. But I felt very safe and comfortable here. Stayed here twice in 2 weeks. Thumbs up!

Stayed here in one of their family rooms. Quaint and well appointed this room had everything we needed including a great view from the verandah over the opal fields. Only complaint was the air conditioner didn't work but with the fans we found we didn't need it. Would definitely stay here again.

+ very cool hostel to stay in + friendly and helpful staff + good value for money + clean toilets and showers + big kitchen and all utensils supplied - wifi only downstairs and wasn't very fast Overall it's a good place for a stop over! Go to johns pizza bar for dinner or just use their kitchen

We stayed here two nights in the family room and found this in excellent condition. The staff were fantastic and even returned a leather jacket I left behind by post! Thanks and I recommend this highly.

Just loved the structure with the sealed and cut walls. Not at all claustrophobic without windows. Had wi-fi connection, TV and all other modcons. The owners and family members could not have been more helpful. They had a great and caring attitude towards their guests. Highly recommend a stay at this wonder place if in Coober Pedy.

We stayed two nights and found the host very pleasant and helpful and the rooms clean and well appointed. The continental breakfast was well received too. We did find our room a little warm overnight as, it seems, the temperature underground is a constant 23 to 25C - however the ceiling fan helped a lot. A good site for exploring...

Saw this on TripAdvisor before planning the trip but didn't book. When we got to town we drove through and saw the sign and checked the place out- sure glad we did! What a little gem. Very reasonably priced compared to some places in town offering underground rooms. Very friendly and helpful service and with good local knowledge (which restaurants...

We are currently travelling in our caravan throughout Australia for 7 months. On our bucket list, and on many international travelers lists to stay in a underground Motel. Driving around the area we came across several, one being the Underground Motel. What a great discovery, a small motel 9 rooms. Sitting out side for breakfast has great views overlooking the...

There are plenty of underground motels in Coober Pedy, but this one is a little gem. My wife and I stayed there twice, coming to and from Uluru, and each time the owner Mike made us feel like we weren't checking into a motel, but were arriving home. The rooms were spacious, impeccably clean, and there's a great kitchen where...

Don't tell anyone how good it is, or there will be no room for us next time. Out of all the places to stay and relax, this is the best and the friendliest. We stayed in a self contained cave down the hill with magnificent private views over "the breakaways" The proof is in the tasting!
