This hotel complex is quite amazing and almost out of context and in dissonance with the rest of Coober Pedy but it is an alternative for those who do not want to stay in digouts. or go full Coober Pedy style. We experienced Desert Cave...More

The Desert Cave Hotel is a beautiful oasis in the desert. Large, clean, well-appointed rooms, a huge bathroom, very comfortable bed and curtains that actually shut out the light - which is a rare find in hotels - were just some of the highlights. Centrally...More

Looks great from the outside but the above ground rooms are very basic and in need of an upgrade. Very dated. Didn’t see the underground rooms. Cafe, bar and shop ok. Plenty of parking. Johns pizza over the road had great food and reasonably priced.

Thanks for your review and glad you enjoyed the facilities. The underground rooms are very popular and invulnerably need to be booked in advance. I hope you have another opportunity to experience the Coober Pedy dugout experience.
