A naturalists paradise. Complete with University of Queensland research centre. The last 5 days have been so good for the soul. From sunrises seeing female green turtles returning to the ocean after laying multitudes of eggs to seeing the turtles hatchlings burst from the nest on their way to the ocean at sunset, leaves one speechless and at one with...

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful place! It is a bit of a mission to get to Heron Island but totally worth it!! It is a truly unique place due to the turtle hatchings. No mobile phone reception means you really get to relax! The snorkeling was fantastic! I highly recommend this place!

Recently had a 3 night break and whilst the island is a conservation area, we found the restaurant prices way too expensive. Dinner portion sizes too were far too small. Walking around the island was always a treat but don't expect paradise as it's basic, although they room was spotless and the bed comfy.

We spent a week here, and it was the best week of our lives. The snorkeling is spectacular, insanely beautiful. The island to walk around is amazing. Definitely recommend going here. The wildlife is superb, the baby turtles in march are so adorable. The amount of bird like just wow. And such a clean environment as well

Although I have used Trip advisor for many years I have never felt the urge to do a review. Although hotels can have their faults and some experiences can be bad, I have always shrugged it off, UNTIL NOW! Prior to my trip I had noticed the stark contrast of Heron Island Resort reviews. After my holiday that a girlfriend...

For my wife and myself it was a new experience to go some where without a TV or newspapers to contend with - The pool area I think should have a little more shade but otherwise the Island is a real peace full place to be..

A really great Island. Loved snorkelling, the coral was beautiful & the fish. The Turtles just wonderful. All the staff were excellent, so friendly & knowledgeable. The Mutton Birds at night very noisy even with ear plugs which we took but the rest was so good that we got over their noise. The food was great & plentiful especially the...

So relaxing, just can't believe! Swimming with turtles and tropical fish I felt like I was in an aquarium. I first visited Heron Island in 2003 with my husband and we said if we have children then we will bring them back here. Well, in 2017 we have returned, as a family of four and we all felt the magic...

Went to Heron Island in mid-March on recommendation of friends who had been there several years earlier. We booked 5 nights; (4 nights paid and one night free). We left after two nights! There is no AC in the rooms and the single ceiling fan was woefully inadequate to circulate air in a meaningful and useful way. On high it...

Heron has a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The semi-submersible boat experience was outstanding! Unspoilt nature is abundant and it is a wonderful eco-resort. We went outside of school holidays and it was nice and quiet.
