The B & B is 4 minutes away from the southern side of four mile beach, so about an hour walk from Port Douglas itself, but what a walk - amazing views. We loved being there and found Frieda and Colin lovely. We really enjoyed talking with them and felt it was a shame we didnt have longer there. Breakfast...

We spent three nights recently as Colin and Frieda's guests and found it to be one of the most hospitable places we've stayed. The room was spacious and clean. The garden was beautiful and tranquil, filled with blooming orchids, . Breakfasts were simple, yogurt and granola, delicious tropical fruit, fresh vegetables, breads, fresh juice, coffee. For us it was perfect....

My husband and I have had a wonderful 6 day stay at this bed and breakfast. Although unassuming from the street it opens into a tropical oasis with a spectacular pool surrounded by trees and potted plants. Frieda and Colin are exemplary hosts and extremely personable and interesting people. Leisurely breakfast was served in the courtyard. This B and B...

I stayed for a week at Frieda & Colin's gem of a B&B, using Port Douglas as a base for exploring the Daintree rainforest region, the Tablelands and the Barrier Reef. The house is an L-shape around a lovely courtyard garden with a pool and tropical plants. Breakfast is served in the courtyard and is a blend of traditional-northern-European (muesli,...

My partner and I stayed at Port Douglas B&B Four Mile Beach for four nights in late November at the end of a three-week trip to Australia. Our main reason for staying in Port Douglas was to go snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef and visit the tropical rainforest. The easiest place to fly into North Queensland is Cairns, but...

Myself and my wife stayed here in December for 1 night on the way to Cape Tribulation and ended up staying an extra night on the way back. In hindsight we wished that we had stayed in this B&B for the full 5 days and used it as a base to explore the area on day trips. Frieda and Colin...

I booked Port Douglas BB some months ago and found Frieda to be a great source of local information before I'd even arrived. Upon arrival, Colin and Frieda couldn't have been more welcoming. The accommodation provides a lovely relaxing ambience which is the theme throughout. Nothing is too much trouble and a fine balance is struck between being on hand...

This small B&B at 4 mile beach is just a short bus ride from the main drag in Port Douglas and across the street from a beautiful stretch of beach on the Coral Sea. Frieda and Colin were delightful hosts. The spacious rooms opened onto a garden and pool where It was a pleasure sitting on the veranda having breakfast...

This was our first ever accommodation in Australia, and we couldn’t have wished for a better introduction. Right from our initial booking contact, Colin and Frieda couldn’t do enough for us – they provided advice and suggestions both before and during our stay, and helped out with reservations for tours and more. The B&B was quiet, comfortable, and very well...

The B&B is a bit out of the way from teh downtown area, so then you will have to drive. The B&B is accross the beach which in that perspective is perfect. The rooms are a bit dated but comfortable. The owners are very friendly and helpfull to guide you to the nice attactions and breakfast was good!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Quiet and peaceful bed and breakfast 4 mile away from busy Port Douglas. One of only three real b&b s in Port Douglas. We are a bed and breakfast, not a holiday rental. A minute's walk to the beach, two minutes' walk to very nice restaurants, bistro and bus services. Every morning a lovely tropical breakfast is served, outside,in the court yard: this is truly open-air living! There is a large saltwater swimming pool. The b&b is in separate guest wing and gives you (and us) privacy and your own entrance. There are only only two rooms, each with their own bathroom, fridge, air conditioning and queen size bed. There are no cooking facilities, though you can make your own tea and coffee. The breezeway, the court yard and garden with lots of plants, bamboo, bougainvillea ,local plants, birds and butterflies are all your territory. We are glad to offer you local knowledge and are happy to help you find the tours and trips that suit you best. ... more   less
