The modernized self contained apartment was spacious, however it was spartan and could have done with furniture that was more comfortable and inviting. The kingsized bed was very firm, and we required additional blankets. The ensuite was very cramped, and no ventilation or exhaust fans in either bathroom or toilets. The kitchenette was situated outside the air conditioned living room,...

We choose an older room that hasn't been renovated because it is cheaper to stay there. The room was very clean and I actually liked the old funky cane furniture (something different for a change). Having the little kitchen was great so we could cook breakfast and make snacks. The location is awesome! So close to the restaurants, pubs and...

since the property was on Macrossan street, I had booked it thinking it to be good. After checking in I realised its a dated property. the feel of property itself is very depressing when you enter it. Its an ages old property with very poor maintenance. Water licking from over head pipe lines in passage. I was given 2nd floor...

This is a great place to base yourself for your Port Douglas stay. Only thing I'd say is it's right next to a pub & if your room is on the Macrossan St side you will be kept awake with music. This may not bother some. A lot of rooms do face Trinity Inlet & if you have one of...

Dea Hilless42 We thank you for the time in sharing your experience at Club Tropical Resort - it was a pleasure welcoming you back again. We are lucky to have a variety of views for the apartments at Club Tropical Resort - and the people watching is sometimes a very interesting past time of the guests in the apartments over...

We have stayed here several times. It has not been updated but that is okay because is spacious, clean, private and quiet. Outdoor area is fantastic. Staff are friendly and helpful. Great location, close to Marina and main street.

We had booked a two day deal through Groupon and could not be happier with the studio apartment. Every thing was clean, the room was cooled down with the aircon already going, the outdoor kitchen on the balcony is great and our room was overlooking the pond stepping, stones and lily area. We actually rang and asked what thebprice would be...

My partner and I booked online through Booking.com. We booked what looked like a beautifully renovated new room only to show up and not get what we paid for. Thankfully the receptionist John sorted things out for us and we got a happy outcome but Club Tropical Resort's marketing team have some touching up to do... I suggest if you're...

Love Love Love this self catering accommodation which is right by the Marina and easy access to the main shopping stretch as well as walking distance should you wish to go on a boat cruise (which you should - read my review on Sailaway Cruise). I arrived at the hotel very late after 9pm (driving from Cairns to Port Douglas...

As locals from Cairns we have stayed at Club Tropical over the years and always found the staff to be friendly. The location is fantastic being across the road from the Courthouse Hotel and in the vicinity of great shopping and restaurants. If you are there when the Sunday markets are on there is no problem with parking as you...

Yes its dated, yes it could do with a facelift, but this is why its affordable. Its in a fantastic location. We stayed in a lower level and walked out onto stepping stones through a lovely pond with the sound of running water. We enjoyed the pool and the spa, the short walks into town to eat and listen to...
