Stayed 2 nights over the Easter period. Room clean, with very basic facilities- tea, coffee, small fridge. It is a backpackers but is a great budget spot for self catering families. The communal kitchen is very well appointed, stove, oven, BBQ, large fridge, shelves for you to label and store your food, just byo food. There is also a great...

Thanks for taking your time to review our lodge you would have noticed the large variety in our guests staying at the lodge in both age and ethnicity, enriching interactions with others . Our budget prices allow all our guests to spend more money on experiencing the wonders of the reef and rainforest rather than a room they only ever...

We stayed 3 nights in this fab hostel. We arrived early and welcomed by Kev who is a legend! Talk about helpful sharing hints and tips about the area, letting us use the facilities before we checked into our room, tour around the complex. Such a friendly hostel with a fabulous pool area ( which the kids lived in) with...

Thanks for your review, we really appreciate you taking the time, you have also helped me learn a new word. I presume a "woggle" is a pool noodle. Good word. We hope to see you here again sometime.

We stayed here as a group of 3 for 5 nights, and honestly, staying in this hostel was the best decision we could have made. From the very first moments, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome and that they genuinely cared about our Port Douglas experience. They reshuffled our dorm reservations so we could have a private room together,...

Hi Karl, Thanks for you review, it can be very humid during the wet season, you get used to it eventually I believe you stayed during a particularly bad week but at least you weren't cold. Look at the upside at that time of year the accommodation rates are cheap and there is generally less wind on the reef and...

Port Douglas was incredibly hot and humid, so after one night camping we gave in and checked in here. We got a huge ensuite room with TV, air-conditioning, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities at a very reasonable price. Moreover the pool was lovely, kitchen facilities were good and there were loads of dvds to borrow. The icing on the...

It looks like this was once a motel, with some carports now converted to sweet little nooks to chill in. (Think nicely painted and full of nice furniture, not a garage.) But some of the carports remain and being able to park my car a few metres from my dorm was so awesome! The room was clean and had cupboard...

Hi Annabella, Thanks for your review, I know the washing line is in the shade, I have only recently acquired the property so I will look into relocating the line but given the large maleulca trees I am going to have issues with shade everywhere. I also appreciate your comments on the smokers table, that too is something i will...

I stayed here for 5 nights in the quietest and supposedly wettest month of the year. I guess I must have brought the dry weather and sunshine from the UK because it only ever rained in the evenings the whole time I was here (apparently it rained everyday in Cairns!)!! In terms of price, quality and service, this place is...

For the price, this place cannot be beat! Clean and comfortable, with great a/c. The man behind the front desk held my shuttle bus when my tour was late (if he hadn't told them where I was, I would have had no way back to Cairns that day except a $$$$$ taxi). And there are thousands of flying foxes out...
