The only redeeming qualities of this hostel were the internet speed and the 1 friendly member of staff encountered. This place was disgusting, filthy, messy and completely unkempt. By far one of the worst hostels I've ever stayed in. If i had the funds to move somewhere else, I would have in a heart beat however it was my last...

We got a private room and it was actually comfortable if you aren't worried about hygiene. Filthy yellow marks all over the sheets, pillows, walls, and floors. Absolutely disgusting kitchen, and the furniture was obviously picked up off the side of the road. "Free breakfast" is a loaf of bread and a jar of jam. Pros Free air con in...

My daughter who is 16 is travelling with a friend and we paid for a couple of nights at the hostel. When they arrived entry was refused despite the website stating that people aged 16 to 18 could check in with guardian permission ( which she had). Just sent them away. I rang to discuss, manager had no reply to...

Thank you for leaving feed back after reviewing the situation regarding your 16 year old daughter as it was explained on the phone to you we are in peak season for the year and it is very hard to accommodate under aged guests as it is a busy international hostel and the liability of having your sixteen year old daughter...

Friendly staff - made time to communicate with you on where you wanted to go that day or after your stay. Cleanliness was okay. Good location to town. Good size pool. Massive rooms with single beds, NO bunk beds!! Woo!! Nemo fish in reception!! Unlimited and free wifi, quite fast. After hours staff were lovely, helped carry heavy suitcase upstairs.

The room is so dirty. Old furniture is fine but its not fine when the walls and carpets are not clean, n the bed has only new linens provided. There is also a sign on the wall saying you cannot sleep on your own sleeping bag. Whats the deal then? The room is smelly and the curtain seems to be...

I was traveling in Australia by myself for the first time, hoping from hostel to going up the east coast. When I reached Cairns I was lucky enough to check into Reef and ended up extending my stay for almost two months because I really felt at home. Reef has clean rooms and lots of communal areas to hang out....

Stayed in a 4 bed dorm for just short of a week. Air-con in the room was constantly running, which kept the room very cool. The building is very old though, If it was insulated a bit better (windows closing properly) the air-con wouldn't need to run 24/7. A nice pool, hammocks and cheap meals on certain days of the...

The only good thing was the location close to the city and the wifi. The dorm smelled like something rotting in a corner somewhere, the windows couldn't open. I saw a big rat and dead cockroaches and in the kitchen there are little ants crawling on the dishes. There is not enough cutlery, no spoons at all and the walls...

Booked this place on the basis that it was cheap and has a good central location. I arrived at 9pm (having pre-told the hostel that id require a late check in) and reception was locked. From the outside it looked really run-down and depressing. By luck, someone turned up at the desk and let me in, I found my dorm...
