We got ourserlves lost trying to find the Hostel - we travelled for a month throughout Australia and Brisbane was the only city we found hard to drive! Check-in was difficult, we couldn't understand or be understood. Then we couldn't open the door that gives access to the rooms area. The room was bad: hot, dated, uncomfortable, I couldn't tell... This place just isn't hygienic. We tried to stay there for few nights, however the smell of mould in the room was overwhelming so decided to shorten our stay. There was this dodgy smell in the kitchen as well and staff didn't seem to bother much about their guests. Located quite far from the city too. Wi-fi never worked in... More

Lets start with we paid more for a pizza than we did to sleep here so we couldnt have high expectations. Upon arrival we had to ask for clean sheets as ours had CLEARLY not been washed. Window was broken, curtains smashed in, obscenities written on the wall in food or bodily fluids?! Air conditioning was a fan that could... More

Hostel was dirty, with mound growing in the bathrooms (that did not lock and had no lights). The shower was a dribble of water. The bed was stained. The staff were unfriendly and not helpful. The wifi connection did not work. The kitchen smelt like out of date food, and was dirty. Avoid

Definition of your bog standard hostel. Nowhere near fancy, but not the worst place I've ever stayed. Yes it's quite grimey, but its cheap and you get what you pay for. You do get free wifi and there is a good outside area to sit in and chill but there are other places in Brisbane (literally round the corner) to... More

I had an excellent stay at the Yellow Submarine. My girlfriend and I stayed in a double room in this large house turned youth hostel. The room was comfortable and quiet room simply furnished with a small desk and side table. The area of the hostel is quite pleasant, many other hostels are also in the same neighborhood but ours...
