Before my friend and I came to Australia, we pre booked this hostel for a week as it appeared to be one of the most popular in the City. On arrival, the receptionist was lovely and helpful (only experience of this our entire stay) and we stayed on the third floor in the Jungle Room. Room was a decent size...

Brisbane was booked out due to the footy so this was it! I'd read reviews and was a bit concerned. However the staff on the front desk were helpful and nice, especially Riley. I'd booked a single room as I had a long day ahead of me in a training course. The room was tiny! A single bed and a...

When I booked this trip I had the mind set of thinking "Its just a bed for a night"..... this hostel is literally a bed in a room.... thats it. No furniture.. oh sorry a wooden box too but thats it and this was the most expensive hostel we were staying in. I am not a prude but i did...

Stayed here for a couple of nights over christmas. I booked a private room which was fine. The building is great with loads of character but thats as far as it seems to go. The staff were not rude and seemed cheery enough but considering it was christmas i would have expected a bit more holiday cheer. The bathroom and...

I stayed here for a week, and I shouldn't have bothered booking that long. The staff weren't all that overly helpful, except for the guy who helped me with my luggage when the lift was broke. (Thank you) As I was on the first floor I could hear the bar downstairs every single night while trying to sleep. Receptionists always...

I stayed with a friend for 3 nights from 3rd to 6th June. We checked in early but were shown to our room which was very helpful, although we didn’t receive the tour of laundry and toilets etc that we were in other hostels. We were on the 1st floor in an 8 dorm, but there were only 4 of...

Stayed in the jungle room, this room was smelly, hot but cleanish. The beds were so squeaky. The bathrooms were ok but some of the shower taps didn't work and the sink leaked. The kitchen was disgusting and had 2 knifes for a 4 storey hostel. You get woke up at 10 am every morning by a speakerphone which is...

The worst hostel I have ever been to. Very dirty, rooms are smelly, been updated to a 6 beds dorm and it was even worst than the 8 beds dorm. Kitchen is unbelievably dirty and there's only 4 stoves for the huge amount of people that are in the hostel. After you try to cook there you will smell like...

I stayed at the Base Backpackers for only two nights (Thankfully for no longer ) over the long weekend. It was very old and outdated and had the famous backpacker hostel smell which was awful. I stayed in a double room, which was clean and very minimal, the showers/bathroom were clean but the actual showers on the third floor were...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nomads Brisbane has everything a backpacker could want, with our five floors offering a wide variety of rooms to appeal to everyone from the newly-arrived to the newly-wed, including dormitory and private rooms. All rooms are secured via electronic keycards, while you can keep your valuables doubly secured with our supplied lockers. Linen is also provided so there's no need to bring your sleeping bag! But that's not all. Our rooftop terrace is the place in the Brisbane CBD to catch some sun, chill out, have a BBQ or just watch the world go by while you wait for your laundry in one of our three laundry rooms. If the sun's not your thing then we also have common areas to kick back, relax, and get some quality tv time; that or cook up a feast in our guest kitchen! If you're looking for work, why not let our Job Club give you a nudge in the right direction? Likewise, our friendly travel desk staff don't just know everything about the beautiful South-East Queensland - they can give you advice about anywhere in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific! Downstairs the Down Under Bar is where you can go full on, flat out! Come on down to Brisbane's most famous backpacker bar where you can win great prizes, dance the night away, or even meet Mr/Mrs Right (or Mr/Mrs Right Now!). If you're after something a little quieter then our Zi Bar does great food and coffee, with regular functions to keep you entertained. Dormitories are available to genuine backpackers only. Guests MUST be over 18 years old to stay at Nomads Brisbane Hostel. ... more   less
