We had an amazing trip overall to Ayers Rock but our stay at Sails really let us down...We checked in to find a half-drunk Coke bottle in the fridge. The phone handset was not working and we had to call 4 times to get someone to come and fix/exchange it. Every day, our mini-bar fridge was not stocked so we...

Hi TakentoTravelling, Thank you for taking the time to post your review and while we are really pleased that you enjoyed the destination I was so sorry to read that you were let down by the servicing of your room. I agree that this is not the level of service you should expect from our hotel and it is not...

Service was outstanding, nothing was too much trouble. The room was amazing - very high end luxury. The decor was based on Aboriginal art and the colour scheme reflected the natural colours of the environment. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. I only stayed one night but wished I had booked extra time to take...

The Sails in the Desert hotel is a great hotel and deserving of a very good rating. The restaurant is actually fantastic. Breakfast buffet and dinner is very good with lots of options for any size family, kids and adults. Adults pay for dining and kids eat free. You are bound to find some food that is really good. The...

Hi RobbertOhio, Thank you for your review of Sails in the Desert. I am so pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay in our hotel and that Ilkari Restaurant was a highlight. I have been lucky enough to stay at all the Ayers Rock properties but sails would have to be my favourite There is a great pool which is perfect for cooking off after a morning exploring the rock. You can also walk to most other properties from sails and a free shuttle bus operates around if you wanted to go...

I was not staying in this hotel during my trip to Uluru, but I have to record this episode. After we were all set to go to the airport (we have been told that the bus passes by 2h before each flight) when we just found out that we had lost it. One guy from the staff (I wish I...

I'm an Australian and my first career some 15-20 years ago was hospitality. I've since travelled the world and marvelled at the service in north America compared to the uppity, pretentious, cooler-than-you-are service you get in Australia. From the moment my mother and I pulled up Ito the concierge driveway and with every single staff interaction in the following 24...

Friendly and really helpful staff made the stay a pleasure. The amenities and features of the hotel make it a nice place to stay and the lookout even has a view of Uluru from right on the roof of the hotel.

I really couldn't think of anything here that disappointed me (apart from a complete refusal to recognise le club status and a somewhat hostile attitude when I enquired about the benefits). The hotel is in fine shape and clearly better than four star. You don't get big five star over the top luxury in remote locations, so this should be...

The hotel is well designed and in a beautiful location. The 'ahh' bed is just that and very comfortable. We found the food average particularly in relation to the prices. Disappointingly, gluten free options seem to be the last priority. The GF bread on offer is a supermarket brand which I have previously rejected as sub-quality. It is the case...
