Sails in the Desert is a very nice, upmarket hotel in the Ayers Rock resort complex. It has a good restaurant and bar, very good service and lovely pool and surroundings. It is well situated in the Ayers Rock Resort and is close to all the other amenities such as the town square, Uluru viewing areas and other hotel restaurants....

Our first visit to Uluru (Ayers Rock) and we selected this accommodation as part of a package deal. The resort was lovely as decorated with Aborginal art and furnishings that reflected the serenit of the place. A beautiful pool and large grassy surround with plenty of loungers to relax on and get some sun. Reception staff were efficient and helpful...

Fortunate to have 5 nights at this property as part of a month long self drive outback trip. It was a pay for 3, stay for 5 night deal, excluding breakfast but including free Wi-Fi. The time allowed for us to have multiple trips to Uluru and Kata Tjuta and not feel rushed doing our bush walks. Lovely clean large...

whilst the facilities, room etc are perfectly adequate this is not a 5 star hotel. It has the feeling of being a little tired & neglected. Let's face it, unlike any other resort in the world that relies of repeat business, once you've seen "the Rock" you are unlikely to return again in a hurry, hence the "neglected" feeling. That...

I stayed at Sails in a superior room for 3 days. It is enjoyable as the best of the Resort, but still a bit too expensive for its 4-star standard, only the room is much larger than usual 4-star. It has nice environment, with grass fields and a swimming pool. Also the restaurant there, Ilkari, serves exceptional buffet dinner that...

I stayed at Sails this August for my very first visit to Uluru and could not have chosen a better hotel. Admittedly it was a rough start with a delayed check- in due to some unknown issue with the reservation, did not appreciate waiting more than an hour to get our room after a long day but we remained polite...

The room was large with a sitting area and a table for eating. Everything was very clean. Bathroom had a tub with shower, double basins. The resort has many free activities, which we did not have time to experience. You should book at least one more day than you think you need here. I could have enjoyed an entire week...

We spent four days at this hotel and found all the staff to be truly customer focused. Nothing was too difficult to and every one we dealt with from the check-in, to the Ilkari restaurant staff, our request for changes to tours and request for dinner reservations was very helpful. The room was very comfortable and the food great. Recommend...
