Living in Alice springs we've been coming to Ross river for over 30 years, stayed in the campground, cabins and eaten from there restaurant. This time as we have a new baby we thought we'd bring a picnic lunch as it's easier with a baby and buy a couple of drinks. NO PICNICS, seriously you own an outback homestead, we...

We stayed 3 nights in one of the rustic cabins on the property and ate all our meals in the homestead except for a packed lunch that we took out with us one day. The old homestead and accommodation are at the end of the bitumen east of Alice Springs. We only had a 2WD car and our camping days...

Ross River Resort is a great base for accessing some of the local attractions, such as N'Dhala Gorge, the Arltunga Historical Reserve-ruins and Ruby Gap via 4WD and Trephina Gorge Nature Park which is easily reached via a 2WD. The Homestead is 85km east of Alice Springs following the Ross Highway. Some nice little stop-over’s along the way include, Emily...

My wife and I loved the location and rustic cabin we stayed in! The friendly staff made us feel welcomed from start to finish. Meals were home cooked and even accommodated for the vegetarians. Trephina Gorge was one of the incredible tourist spots close by and well-worth a visit. Thanks to Shane, Jodie and staff for making our holiday very...

This was a beautifully balanced few days. Our rustic cabin was comfortable, clean and air-conditioned. Just outside we could gather wood and have our own campfire. We walked to the nearby camping/caravan area which was spacious, green and shaded by gracious old trees, with very good facilities. We received a warm friendly welcome from Jodi and Shane. Their helpful suggestions...

Loved it! Went out East for a day visit & ended up at Ross River. Was keen to visit N'Dhala Gorge but couldn't due to hire car. The friendly manager Shane, got me on a trip with two of his lovely staff. Walked the Gorge & then lunch at the resort. Also great views -5 mins walk up the hill...

Brilliant hosts, great meals, beautiful location... what more could you want? Plenty to do and see in red centre but make sure you spend time here and exploring the surrounding country. Waterholes, ranges and plenty of birds. Jodi and Shane keep on making improvements to the facilities and will do their best to make you comfortable.

We visited with another family and stayed in the family cabins. The cabins were rustic and somewhat charming. They had a queen bed, a bunk bed, and a single bed, which were comfortable. They came with linens and complementary toiletries. The en suite bathroom had a toilet, sink and a spacious shower with hot water. They also had a table,...
