I have stayed at Verona before, and love this spot! The owners are always friendly and very helpful, and I have found the rooms to be beautiful and comfortable. It was quiet at night surprisingly, as it is situated on Glebe's main road and there were a lovely variety of things for breakfast. We also felt comfortable hanging out in...

Having just stayed at The Verona Guest House I would definitely not recommend it at all. Our double room was located “out the back” of the house so was not even located inside “the former Doctor’s House” and we still paid $200 per night !! Our view out the window was at the garbage bins and the dog barking over...

Lovely place, our room is just the right size with an ensuite, the breakfast area is a good size and has all you can eat from toast to cereal, eggs and bacon. The owner is very friendly. It's walking distance to cafés. I will defiantly stay here again

This looks lovely from the outside and if you read the history of the building one would expect a beautiful interior. It is quite welcoming as you enter the front door and walk up to your room but all expectations dissipate at this point. The decor is extremely outdated and not at all "old world charm". The breakfast was not...

Thanks Amanda. Obviously I will have to keep trying harder. I do want all guests to enjoy themselves so I am sorry you also found the house outdated.

Lovely light filled room. The room was a good size. It is located in a great spot with a bus stop almost straight out the front. However, the room was a bit outdated. The bed was very uncomfortable. The glasses and water bottle provide had lipstick all over them, which made me feel uncomfortable about what else had been cleaned...

Thankyou for your feedback. Obviously it is upsetting to receive such a negative review. We clean all rooms thoroughly before guests arrive. I personally check all rooms after the cleaners have finished and before guests arrive to make sure they haven't missed anything. Each mattress is commercial grade quality and our beds are hand-crafted. We lovingly restored our home into...

A fantastic B&B in the heart of Glebe's village, bus to the city centre virtually on the doorstep! Fully stocked fridge & pantry with all day "breakfast" but I had a midnight snack or two. Great that all rooms have an ensuite. Will stay again!!!

We started our Australian trip at Verona and loved it so much, we booked our last few days here as well. Not wanting to stay in another hotel, Verona offers everything with a more homely atmosphere. Enjoyed reading papers on the verandah upstairs, making what we liked for breakfast and generally enjoyed staying in Glebe with the village atmosphere and...

Were lucky enough to book the whole guesthouse over a weekend, a family reunion organized well in advance. The rooms are lovely, the common areas spacious and the kitchen well stocked. Located on Glebe Pt Rd just down from village shops and with a bus stop outside, light rail to the city a short walk away, it's position couldn't be...

Our first stay at the Verona last weekend certainly won't be our last. It was everything the other reviews promised: quiet, brilliantly located, friendly and well priced. With so many plusses I was tempted to keep this Sydney gem a secret for fear of not being able to secure one of the 8 rooms if word got out about how...

Just had 6 nights at the Verona for a family reunion clean with nice rooms with all amenities & the owner Julianne made sure we had an enjoyable stay--The 431 bus stop right outside the door made getting around a breeze & the tranquil walking tracks around Glebe made for a great stay & certainly as good as any 5...

Staying in Glebe

Neighbourhood Profile
Glebe
An inner city suburb along the water, Glebe has a deep-rooted sense of cultural history and heritage. It originated as a semi-rural resort for the well-to-do, but has transformed into a student-centric melting pot. Visit Glebe Point Road for ethnic cuisine as standard as Mexican, Indian, Italian and Chinese, or as diverse as Spanish, Bavarian, Polish, Czech and Lebanese. You will find that Glebe is accepting of the eccentrics and aboriginals that roam the streets, integrating students and people of all economic statuses into the multi-cultural fabric that distinguishes this suburb. Glebe Foreshore is a great destination for a leisurely walk along the Bay, and the Saturday market is a great scene for bargain hunters.
