Checked in for 2 nights and stayed 6 months. This is more than a hostel, it is a family & if you want to be part of that you will be welcomed with open arms. Hostels generally aren't the cleanest of places but the kitchens and bathrooms and up to a good standard. The price is great, esp if paying...

booked a individual room for privacy. very dirty and unclean. lots of people drinking and smoking in common areas, very loud and difficult to sleep.the building itself is rundown and degraded. location is a bit of a walk from the train station and a long way from the centre of the city. Price wasnt great, it would be worth paying...

We ended up staying for 4 weeks in this hostel, disregarding some lacks of cleanliness we had a great time. Our receptionist Gabriel was really kind and competent. We would return here every time visit Sydney!!!!

We arrived to discover that they had messed up our booking, we booked a private double but were given a 6-bed dorm to ourselves. I realise mistakes can be made but the justification offered for this was that they though we were two males and not a male and female so they put us in a room with separate beds....

Tokyo Village is by far the friendliest hostel I have stayed in. The character of the place stands out and I have never felt more at home whilst travelling, It is a small hostel with the most friends. I initially checked in for 1 night but ended up staying over 8 months. The staff are welcoming and fun but remain...

This hostel is one of the best i've ever stayed in. When you enter it may not look like a 5 star hotel or anything. But that's not a big deal because it's a backpackers. The reason why I love this Hostel (stayed there for 8 month) is the great atmosphere. You will know everybody after a couple days. People...

I have stayed at Tokyo Village twice. During x-mas and last week in January. For me Tokyo Village is the best hostel. I like to party but not in my hostel. The hostel is just a view minutes from central station and the night life. If u want to chill out ore have a beer, there is a garden (my...

I've stayed in a few hostels and this must be the worst. I can definitely vouch for all the other comments about the owner being terrible - when I arrived he made me wait for an hour for his wife to arrive and check me in, because he was 'too busy' doing some handyman work. This was despite telling me...

i met quite nice people there, but the german owner.. oh my god. he was such a nightmare. when i extended my staying, he charged me higher rate. if he doesnt like some guests, he throw their food away from fridge. (i really saw that!) he introduces some jobs to backpackers under the table, we supposed to get $15 a...

We stayed for 11 nights. We booked the room within short notice so our choice of somewhere to stay was limited. We settled for Tokyo Village as we had little other option for our budget range. We had been told that all of the hostels in Sydney were a bit of a dive unless you are going to fork out...
