Stayed here one night thankfully. It's based on youngens wanting to party. It's Not my cup of tea. Rooms are ok and showers ect but it was to loud next to the club at night took awhile to get to sleep, And then could hear people in and out all night. May be ok for some people but I won't...

It is loud and party focused at night. If you are travelling and wanting to meet others this would be a good hostel. Customer service is hit and miss. They have this app to check in which is very annoying and is supposed to help make actual checkin quicker but there is still a line usually. People were turned away...

I loved my stay in Base Backpackers, it's just in the middle of the city in a great location, so you can walk everywhere without spend money in transport. We stayed in a mixed dorm with my boyfriend and the room was clean and the beds super comfortable with air conditioning in the room. We have our own toilet and...

Shared a 4 person with onsuite room. Luckily the Japanese couple was considerate of us when sleeping. The room was cramped with no space for baggage. Our room was above the restaurant bar night club that everyone goes to until 3am, yes the room vibrated all night was like sleeping on top of a sound system. At least every day...

I really enjoyed my stay in the "female sanctuary". It's a part of the hostel only for girls. The doors are pink and there are hair dryers and straighteners. I stayed in a 4 bed dorm. The room was very big with a high ceiling, two bunk beds and a big window with a view of the city. Since it's...

We had a great time at Base Backpackers. The staff was friendly and helpful, the hostel was clean, and the vibe was great. We also really appreciated the resources they provided for planning onward travel or longer stays in Australia.

Nick genuinely cared about my well being. I see him like this guidance counsellor- always caring and knows about the people checked in. He has the best interest at heart for everybody! He will guide you in the right direction to travel. It made staying at Base a hostel I want to be at and return. I am forever grateful...

Base was ok-good on average, but that's because they were great at some things (super comfy beds, friendly staff) but bad at others (pretty much everything electrical I ever saw was broken, & WiFI $7/day - seriously?! :o). But the big worry for me was the fire alarm going off, with "Evacuate, evacuate!" sounding over sirens and *staff did not...

Came to Sydney in November, had the most amazing time. The bar next door is great, with themed nights every night so you will always have something different to do! The location is right in the CBD so you are close to absolutely everything, and there is a train station located right across the street. The staff at this hostel...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
