Entrance to this seedy hotel is between a bottle shop and a sex shop. The towels and bed linen were clean, but the absolutely everything else was filthy. I found a takeaway container in the room with mould growing out of it. I informed reception and asked for it to be removed. There was no apology and no-one came to...

Great location and roof top Terrance but that's the only good things about this place. The air conditioning didn't work. There was an iron burn on the floor. Missing tiles on the bathroom floor. Extremely dated styling. If you want a dirty drinking weekend it's great value. But beyond that I wouldn't recommend this place!

The price was right and I thought the penthouse would be a bit more luxurious. The views from the roof are great as is the location. However, staff is unfriendly and unwilling to provide wofi password even tho room was advertised to have free wi-fi. I was told that was only avilable at the front desk but not on the...

Spent 1 night in standard room for work (located 200mtrs down oxford st) so it was a great location, but that was the only good thing. The room we stayed in was on the first floor, and had stained carpets, mould, and broken light switches. The bathroom was filthy, and the hot water tap was broken and just sitting on...

On Oxford, between Taylor Square and Crown St. Great for the gay traveller who wants to be smack bang in the middle of it all. I got the family room to myself for a last minute discount and it had 3 beds, couch, tv. The Asian boys who were manning the reception were helpful and friendly enough.

Don't expect a 4 star hotel or service, the rooms are simple and clean. Its a little bit run down and shabby but it's central, on the corner of Oxford and Crown so walking distance to food and shops and it's convenient. Beware of the amount of traffic noise, especially if you're a light sleeper. They charge $10 a day...

We stayed in the penthouse which afforded great views of the city during sunset. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Our room was pretty basic but comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed the company of the other guests on the roof during the evening for lively chat and drinks. Lots of great restaurants nearby to choose from.

Great location if you are keen to party and sleep your days away as there is no way you will get a good night sleep as its surrounded by nightclubs and pubs. Loud drunks and fights on the streets at night time which makes you constantly nervous! The management don't speak English much at all and certainly never seem to...

Staying in Darlinghurst

Neighbourhood Profile
Home of the small bar revolution in Sydney, Darlinghurst has more bars per capita than any other suburb. Themes range from American whiskey bars and 1950’s theme bars to hidden bars requiring secret passwords. Oxford Street is the "Gay Capital" of Australia, where gay and lesbian-friendly venues feature “diva shows” and dancing until the morning. Vintage lovers flock to Crown Street, and small designer boutiques can be found along Victoria and Bourke Streets. Dining in Darlinghurst is a gastronomic adventure. Food from all over the world is on the menu, from American ribs to tapas, sushi to gelato and every ethnicity in between.
