We were recommended by friends to sample the pies and beer. The pub was very dark inside, which might pass as character. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a good range of beers made in house. The menu was limited, with the prices cunningly written as words not numbers. We selected the home made beef pie with...

After living overseas for 11 years the only thing I have missed from the UK are the local pubs and in particular Marston's Pedigree ale. Walking in to the Lord Nelson makes me feel I'm back in my local and the Victory Ale is the best I have drunk and comes very close to Marston's. Shame I live in Melbourne...

It has become a tradition for us that when in Sydney, we must find time for a visit to The Lord Nelson Brewery. It's a nice walk from Circular Quay through The Rocks area, passing some rather interesting and original houses and it's also quite nice to see the view from The observatory. The Lord Nelson is generally busy, has...

Great atmosphere, great selection of beers. Very lively no matter what day of the week it is and for a pub it surprisingly has good food. Easy walk from Circular Quay and from the main drag of the Rocks.

A cosy brewery with an English pub feel. The Old Admiral is delicious. A tasting paddle is a must. Friendly staff. No cover outside if it's raining and inside was full but just take an umbrella if it looks like drizzle.

This was a great place to stay in Sydney. It is located in the Rocks, but out of the madness so it was quiet. It was walk-able to Circular Quay, so easy access from the train from the airport. The pub is VERY popular, but we never hear a sound. However, that is because we had to walk up to...

My visit here was on recommendation from a local I met on the Manly ferry, from the description that I was given it was a must visit location. I wasn't disappointed, it's away from the city centre but it's worth the walk, I walked into a busy bar but was greeted by several friendly staff members and offered advice on...
