Really enjoyed my stay, great hotel location, and loved my suite-style room. Easy walk to Opera House, Botanical Gardens and other great sites. Also enjoyed room service. Great wifi. And just about 30 minutes, maybe less, to get to the International Terminal at Sydney airport door to door.

Stayed at this beautiful hotel overnight to join a cruise at nearby Circular Quay Cruise Terminal. Very good restaurants and shops nearby as well as the Opera House. The hotel has very large guest rooms and an impressive marble bathroom in the guest rooms. Very comfortable bedding and close to everything if you are having a break or holiday in...

Superb! After booking online just a few days beforehand we arrived to be warmly greeted. How grateful we were to find that the standard hotel room we had booked had been upgraded to a suite. A most comfortable and luxurious evening. Nothing to fault and absolutely perfect.

The ambience is dark wood panelling, thick carpet, piano background music, and *space*—this rarest of commodities in modern hotel architecture, where ceilings are low, passages narrow, and rooms are small. Sir Stamford, in comparison, has huge lounging areas (we were on the third floor, which features the the "Quay Room", and which is not mentioned on the Sir Stamford site),...

We stayed at the hotel for one night but it was, a wonderful experience. I have always loved the Stamford chain and our experience at the 'Sir' did not disappoint. Check in was friendly and professional, music playing as we checked in this grand stately former colonial establishment. Hues of red and gold saturate the surroundings with elegant furniture and...

We have stayed at Sir Stamford at the Quay on several occasions over the past few years and it has become our city hotel of choice due to its location, close to the Opera House for our frequent visits to symphony concerts and also Sydney Harbour. We enjoy the friendliness of the staff and the Bar which is atmospheric when...

Traditional style in a great location close to northern end CBD ("downtown"), Circular Quay and its many amenities, Opera House, Botanical Gardens, NSW Art Gallery. Large very clean room and bathroom, furniture dated, nice foyer, and lounge areas n the floors I visited. Not much city noise, a little noise leaking from rooms adjacent and above. Expensive parking like all...

We have stayed at the Stamford on three previous occasions and have found the hotel to be in an extremely convenient location, the rooms are spacious and clean and everything you require is to hand....however, this time when we arrived we had the coldest reception I've ever had from any hotel I've visited and I'm well travelled, the greeting was...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
