The breakfast buffet needs to be arranged. I got bored of the same thing every day. The location is very good, so it is very convenient for sightseeing and work. The pool, gym and sauna were very comfortable.
Physically the hotel is in a great position and in general good condition. Although there was plenty of very pleasant staff, they seemed to lack training or experience. Annoyingly, there are no written instructions in the room and the TV instructions were in various Asian languages. It required a wait an "engineer" to fix. The in-house dining options are poor as are the bar food options (the same). The seafood buffet was excellent and reasonable value for money.
Great place but would never pay for it out of my own pocket. While the rooms and the location were great, it is in the area is Sydney where prices seems to have increased to a point that doesn’t not justify the cost. If going for holiday, choose somewhere else.
Absolutely stunning room, great view over Hyde Park. Superb service, offering an umbrella when venturing out to dinner in the rain, very helpful. Breakfast was delicious, with fast efficient service, loved the three egg omelette and espresso coffee. Overall 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Lovely helpful people, nothing is too much trouble, I felt very welcome. From the greeting I received at the front, to the excellent breakfast service, my end to end experience at Hyde Park could not have been better
I have stayed for 2 nights. I specifically told the reception the day before I leave that I would be paying by my debit account not the credit card account I provided to reserve my bookings. She said that wouldn't be a problem. It said on their website that the credit card will not be charged and you can pay at the hotel. It will only be used to reserve the bookings. When I checked out, the reception charged my debit card without telling me that my credit card have been already charged. When I checked my account, they double charged me. When I rang, the reception said the payment will be reversed back on my credit card from 5 to 10 days. Not a very happy customer...
We stayed for two nights and found the rates were very competitive compared to other 5 star hotels in Sydney CBD. The location is excellent, a few steps from the major shopping precinct, St James railway station, across the road from Hyde Park with its beautiful gardens and fountain. The check in staff are professional, efficient and courteous, as are the valet's. Iced water and iced tea stations await travellers with a personal greet from staff. The hotel foyer is grand and always impressive. The rooms are modern, clean, comfortable and QUIET with beautifully spacious, marble bathrooms. The beds and pillows are luxurious and afford a great nights sleep. Generally the bar and breakfast staff are great, but on this occasion there were a number of new staff that had not been trained fully, so this is the only reason I awarded 'service' a four out of five this time (that and I could not get an espresso as their coffee machine was broken). The Negroni's are one of the best made in Sydney! Overall an excellent hotel that we will definitely return to.…
Don’t bother if you need to be there for a conference and are coeliac. Very few options , buffet dinner option not open and catered food for lunch etc horrible. Lucky the hotel Itself was lovely and spacious and the bed was comfortable. Staff are lovely and the service in general is great.
This buffet is one of my favourite. Me and my fiance go often to buffets and hands down one of the best breakfast buffets. Definitely one to go one weekend and indulge. Many many options available and very friendly staff. We had a waiter who was Giullermo who was Colombian and he greeted us very well and very welcoming!
Worst experience I’ve had with hotel management. This is my first ever hotel review, but had to post it to ensure people don’t fall into the same problem. Here’s what happened: We had hotel credit, as our friends kindly bought us a honeymoon gift card. We booked a car to drop us off at the opera house. Upon our checkout we’ve noticed that our bill did not reflect that charge. We asked the receptionist to include it, they told us if it’s not reflected in the bill by now then consider it complimentary. We thanked them and decided to buy a bottle of wine as an gift given we have not consumed the entirety of our gift card. 2 days post our departure, I receive a text that my card has been charged 500 dollars with no explanation or an email from the hotel. 10 calls and various emails later and the issue has not been resolved. The hotel manager thought it was a great idea to split the bill 50/50 between us… 20 days later I got charged again an amount from my card for an undisclosed item!…
