Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really nice hotel in shopping district of Sydney. Easy to get to from airport on train - get off at St James and walk about 200 metres down Market Street to hotel. About 150 metres from light rail that goes down to Circular Quay. A ten minute walk into Darling Harbour

Hotel's Favourite
We booked a room with a view of Darling Harbour that gave my partner a view of water that she wanted & all 3 of us were able to see the planes coming into land as well as take off. The room was very spacious, close to the lift & access to the rooms was via 2 separate lifts than eliminated any security problems that could occur. The buffet breakfast was superb & you did not leave the facility feeling hungry. My daughter had without a doubt the best breakfasts she had ever had in her life. Location Location this hotel had it all. Walk to the left & you are in Hyde Park. Go right & it's Darling Harbour. And they are both easy walks. Best of all is the Light Rail stop 50 metres away in George Street just around the corner that is 3 stops to Circular Quay for all the ferry rides. Woolworths or Coles just around the corner If you need a hotel that has it all IT IS SWISSOTEL IN SYDNEY We will be returning in 6 months time because both Sydney & this hotel can compete with anything there in the rest of the world

One of the most amazing experiences. I am travelling around Australia to celebrate our 40 year anniversary. The staff of the hotel are very nice and polite. The food is amazing and the bar portrays the class of the hotel. Executive lounge is perfect. Our anniversary night was made special by Jai who asked us to keep sitting and he served us as he saw that we had trouble walking. He spoke to us throughout 3 days making sure we were fine throughout. He even gave us special cocktails and a small cake to make us feel really warm. Thanks chef too. I’ve always stayed in Accor but service I received here from Jai and staff was beyond amazing. Keep up the good work.

The team at Swissotel Sydney are fantastic. Friendly and smiles from the point of Vallet to check out. Nothing was too hard. Great location and room was fantastic on the executive floor. Breakfast was one of the best buffet breakfasts we have had at a hotel.

The room was nice and was supposedly recently renovated but still appeared dated. The television was at a 90 degree angle to the bed so watching TV in bed was difficult. The service from the concierge/bellman was unacceptable and not 5 star at all. The electronic do not disturb/ housekeeping request system was inoperative. We reported it 3 times and was never repaired. The breakfast buffet was $30 person with coupon and it was self service including making coffee. Waiters took away plates but offered nothing

Hello 2432Lakebend, Thank you for your feedback, Im very sorry these points you raise impacted on your stay, we are very proud of the hotel and what you have highlighted is not our normal service. I have already spoken to my Operational team to ensure these points are corrected; this will include following up with the team at the end of the week. I was wondering, did you get a chance to experience our newly refurbed pool whilst you were staying with us. The weather was perfect for a casual lay around the pool. Dave

Very bad service after there was stolen into my room. Instead of looking for a solution they do not help you as a customer. Not a good experience. The focus is not on the customer . Said that this hotel is so customer unfriendly. Think twice if you book this hotel in Sydney

Hello Robbeenders, Thank you for sharing your feedback, Im sorry you are upset however. I do need to jump in and share that Im more than happy to talk to you myself if you wish to call the hotel. However, please note a full investigation was conducted including an electronic key read, the pattern of movement you discussed with my managers highlighted enough information to help you feel comfort we didnt take anything from your room. I also asked the FOM to report this to the Police for files. Robbeenders, Im sorry, before sending a strong accusation can you look in your luggage or track back your movements too. David

My partner and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Swissotel in Market Street and was so impressed by the room, the friendly service and the staff went out of their way to make our stay special. The bed and room furnishings were first rate. The restaurant staff when asked for something not on the menu provided it without fuss and our wait staff were so obliging. There was sadly one minor issue where we were not advised the pool was not available the whole time. That was one of the reasons for checking in. Apart from that a very pleasant stay. We will definitely stay there again.

Hello Deidre M, Thank you for your feedback and kind words. We share our guest feedback at our team meetings, I know the operational teams will love to hear you enjoyed your stay. Yes we did have to temporarily shut the pool during your stay so Contractors could tend to a few quick repairs however this is not the norm. Did you get a chance to try our newly refurbed Arches Bar - we are very proud of the new look lobby and Bar. we look forward to seeing you again soon Dave
