Stayed 1 night in a partial opera house view for our 10 years anniversary. The hotel gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne. Amazing views and perfect to see the Vivid festival from a distance. Checkin was quite busy but to be expected at 2pm on a Saturday. All staff were efficient and friendly - just the right engagement and... More

Great service, very friendly, happy staff. Looking forward to my next stay. It's just 3mins walk from busy George St Sydney, so everything is so close, and amazing views of the Harbour Bridge & Sydney Opera House and most of Sydney CBD. The breakfast is the best.

Shangri-La Sydney is situated close to the Rocks and Circular Quay. The views are stunning as the Hotel is well above street level. There is abit of a climb from George Street. The restaurant and bar on the top floor has magnificent views of Opera House and Harbour area. The room was spacious, as was the bathroom. Lovely hotel to... More

I love the VIVID festival, so I decided to stay at the Shangri La to take in the magnificent views of the festival from high above. I was not disappointed! The room and bathroom were amazing, and the bed was second to none, I can't remember ever having such a good night's sleep! The only thing, and this is not... More

Titan Kim who met at Café Mix for breakfast, he gave us excellent customer service. Highly recommend Titan Kim at Cafe Mix for your perfect meal. Also highly recommend Executive grand harbour rooms which are located from 23rd levels to 29th for unforgettable view from harbour bridge to Opera house.

We stayed at the shangrila during the vivid fest, chosen mostly for the view of the opera house and harbour bridge. From the moment we walked in the reception foyer to the last moments being loaded into a cab on our way out, we were treated to a perfect balance of friendliness, manners and fabulous service. We gad the buffet... More

A busy hotel right in the thick of it. Rooms are without fault, extremely comfortable beds, superb shower facilities with gigantic towels, and breakfasts had to be seen to be believed and set you up for the day. The Shangri-La Sydney is absolute perfection. The best hotel we have stayed in. The view from our room was incredible. Our room was luxurious with a huge bath to soak in. Can't wait to stay there again.

Service was amazing, and the staff were truly helpful! We purchased the VIVID package which included a selfie stick and champagne. However we were only on the 10th floor and the lights that lit the shangri-la made it difficult to take photos from the room and only showed how unclean the windows were from the outside. Considering we paid for... More

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
