I was very impressed with the Shangri La. After researching this hotel it seemed the Horizon Club rooms were the most recently renovated with access to the club and other additional amenities. Stayed for 3 nights and can't really fault the room or the club. If you're going to stay at the Shangri La shell out the extra for Horizon...

We had the most amazing weekend at Shangri La Hotel, Sydney. We booked our room for my parents 21st Wedding Anniversary and were joined by a few friends and family as well into an Executive Grand Harbour View Suite, and loved having our own lounge room and seperate bedroom. Room was well appointed and spacious, Bottle of Champagne and Chocolates...

Very good service, large comfortable rooms and some glorious views over Sydney harbour - especially from the Horizons Bar. Even our city view suite on the 17 floor had a stunning outlook across Walsh Bay. Nice way to spend our anniversary.

We stayed in the Premier Grand Harbour View room and it was incredible. The view you get from the room is the best in Sydney. The room was definitely spacious and the amenities were very nice. They asked if there was a special occasion when we were checking in and offered us a very nice bottle of champagne for our...

The canapés in the Club Room were VERY ordinary, sorry I hate to complain, but really ! Absolute rubbish. The views are amazing, the rooms great, but don't bother investing in a Club Room. A waste of $$$

This hotel is in a great location so close to the best Sydney has to offer. The staff do try hard to make you happy. The package deals are great value if you are a member of Shangri la. One note to consider, the windows don't open

I arrived here after staying in the Shangri-La Kowloon. Although not always fair to compare, this was not quite at the same standard, though it was still very good. Service was good and friendly at reception and especially from the concierge and porter. I arrived early and my room was ready for me. I had booked an opera house/city view...

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
