Old hotel. Great for the price…budget. Friendly helpful staff. Single Mum with pre-teen traveller. Didn't feel unsafe. Tea/coffee provided in the rooms(but no spoon) & a small fridge. Child complained that mattress was uncomfortable, but I found them ok. Towels were provided, but only one bath towel each…no hand towels, or wash cloths. The towel rack was also broken in...

Probably the worst hotel I have stayed in for years but must be judged on value and location. Loved being so close to Glebe and being to able to explore one of Sydney's more interesting suburbs. At the price available today, one cannot expect a modern refurbished hotel - it is what it is - the rooms though are actually...

I really dreaded booking this hotel but was on a very tight budget. Previous reviews have been very harsh. I believe its been rated against top hotels rather than against other budget hotels. As a mother travelling alone with her teenage daughter for uni exams we booked here for several nights due to budget restrictions. Our room was clean, clean...

The hotel is in a perfect location to walk the shopping streets of the city of Sydney. The harbors, bridge, Opera House and Botanic Gardens are within a 30 minute walk. The staff were very friendly,service-minded and helpful. We stayed in room 317, which is not a bad room but it needs refurbishment and could be cleaner. There is no...

Alot of improvements are currently being done and its returning to its glory. The parkview is friendlier, cleaner, quieter and much more comfortable than the first time I ever stayed here. As improvements continue this place is becoming one of the best value hotels in Sydney. Central location with major shopping mall and cinema around the corner. the renowned glebe...

Needed a very basic room for one night in Glebe, and we had a tight budget. Our room had only one window, which didn't open and looked out over an enclosed common area in the hotel. It smelt as if the previous guests had been smoking, and there was only a pedestal fan to circulate the air. Everything in the...

My partner and I booked in to crash here after an AFL footy final ona Saturday night. Although we were only there for about 6hrs before flying out, it has to be said it was very difficult to sleep. The bed was squeaky and spongey, the walls were thin and we could hear late night party goers coming and going...

We stayed in family room. One double bed and 2 single beds. Room was clean enough. Flat screen TV. Room and furniture is dated but practical. Tea and coffee and fridge. Bathroom pretty small and old and run down. Water was hot and good pressure. Looks better than photos online. New managers seem to have made some improvements. Definitely not...

Walking distance to the city and very cheap rooms. However, do not expect the Hilton as the rooms are very basic and in some cases require maintenance. Certainly a case of you get what you pay for. Rooms are around $80 but I would recommend taking ear plugs as the walls are thin and noise travels. But if you are...

Needed a replacement jug, lighting was one bulb, but they gave me a reading lamp when I asked. Hot water was good, the basin's taps made an alarming noise, but the toilet was wedged between the shower and the wall - large people beware. Noisy fellow guests who took loud phone calls in the hall. But the staff did sort...

Staying in Glebe

Neighbourhood Profile
Glebe
An inner city suburb along the water, Glebe has a deep-rooted sense of cultural history and heritage. It originated as a semi-rural resort for the well-to-do, but has transformed into a student-centric melting pot. Visit Glebe Point Road for ethnic cuisine as standard as Mexican, Indian, Italian and Chinese, or as diverse as Spanish, Bavarian, Polish, Czech and Lebanese. You will find that Glebe is accepting of the eccentrics and aboriginals that roam the streets, integrating students and people of all economic statuses into the multi-cultural fabric that distinguishes this suburb. Glebe Foreshore is a great destination for a leisurely walk along the Bay, and the Saturday market is a great scene for bargain hunters.
