I stayed last night at this place and I highly recommend against staying here. Rooms didn't have fly screens and filled with mozzies, woken up very early by renovations. Staff were rude and actually charged us for more rooms than we used. Don't stay here. Beware!

I spent one night in a double room with bathroom, wich is small but it was really clean. No aircon, only a fan. The parking area is in front of many rooms and can be noisy in the morning. The reception is in the local bar and the rooms are in a open air area, no safe at all. When... More

Do not go there! I luckily only stayed there for three nights. Three long nights. It used to be a motel. Meaning super small rooms and 6 beds crammed into it with one very dirty and disgusting bathroom and a shower. The floor is sticky and the room smells like stinky socks and just looks very filthy. They don't really... More

I was terribly disappointed in the hoey moey. I stayed in one of their hotel rooms and I was not impressed what so ever. The bar fridge was not working, I wasn't given an internet password and my pillow cases were dirty. Plus also one of the springs was loose in the mattress. the room was also rather small i... More

Just left the Hoey Moey and would not return. The rooms are so cramped, with no lockers or anywhere to put our luggage. There was no aircon only a fan that didnt work very well, and only circulated warm air. The bathrooms were dirty despite being cleaned every day with mould around one of the doors. The windows dont close... More

My name is Muttley MccGwire aged 19 who has just finished my 3 months regional work in Coffs Harbour. I stayed at the Hoey Moey Backpackers for 4 months and it has been one of the favourite chapters of my life so far. If you want loads of new friends, a good social life after a hard days work and... The hotel itself is great with a good atmosphere, great food and drinks and in a central location. BUT, staying there in the accommodation is a nightmare with all the Backpackers. We were next door to a room that held 16 Backpackers, the noise all night was loud and we got no sleep. We were booked in for three nights... More

We are currently booked to stay here for two nights, but as I write this review I'm strongly considering making it just the one!! After a long drive from Surfers Paradise we were looking forward to a good nights sleep - how wrong was we!!! Wish I had seen reviews on this place first!!! The noise this motel/hostel gives off... Hoey Moey is a great pub! Sunday morning in the beach for a swim and then spending the afternoon watching crab races and great live band with well priced libations! Rooms are what you'd expect for the price - but clean and comfortable! Great option if you want a few beers and not drive! Staff are very friendly and helpful.... More

Perfect location right by the beach, rooms are clean and tidy with widescreen TV's. Fun activities and plenty of entertainment. Matt and Frank kept me in work during my stay to boot! I wish I could've stayed longer....
