Frogs, roos, little birds. This property is a rural haven surrounded by bush and bounded by the Shoalhaven River. We stayed here as a base for two day trips rafting the River. We were given useful information from Matt about access to and from the river. When we walked in to his property with our packs cold and wet after...

My sincere thanks to Matt for doing such a great job in welcoming my friends and I during a recent stay at The Old Timberlight. The grounds and the layout of the site certainly provide for bush walking and exploring, the cabins were clean and quite luxurious within a very pleasant rural setting. This really is a hidden gem of...

We hired out 3 cabins for a birthday celebration / xmas in July. Matt (the owner) was more than accommodating with our requests including one couple bringing their dog. After watching the sunset at the gorge, we had a delicious dinner cooked by Matt and lots of laughs for a memorable evening. Next day after a sleep in we all...

After hearing that the rooms didnt have any television, my partner was a little hesitant, but we were able to take our little French Bulldog so that won her over. Old Timberlight is off the beaten track and at first you think you are lost, but once you arrive you are greeted by the owner Matt who is a great...

I had a wonderful escape from Brisbane, work and all those normal responsibilities with a weekend at Old Timberlight Guesthouse. I was amazed at the friendly professional service. Matt made you feel like an old friend and the food was refreshingly wholesome. I would recommend this location for anyone wanting some time out from the bustle of city life and...

I don't know what to rave on more about...our gastronomy satisfaction or the beautiful peaceful atmosphere. Matts incredible cooking keeps your taste buds delighted. The rooms are very clean with the want for nothing more. Comfy clean bed and bathroom and a log fire to keep you warm at night until morning. And acres and acres of almost pristine bush...

Old Timberlight takes some finding, it is off the beaten track and so those with a poor sense of direction may easily become lost. Still it adds to the sense of adventure and the Old Timberlight estate is a place for adventure for those who seek it.

I cannot recommend Old Timberlight strongly enough. My partner and I weren't really looking for a luxury getaway - we were off on a bushwalking trip and wanted somewhere to stay. This was so near the wilderness we were planning to walk through that we booked. It was magnificent. Beautiful little cottages arranged around a lake, a lovely lake house...

The Old Timberlight Guesthouse is a great find!! Following a dirt road for about 10km from the tiny town of Nerriga, we arrived at the property to be warmly greeted by Matt, who turned out to be a fantastic operator who made us feel like we were visiting an old friend, whilst still providing us with fantastic service - the...

We stumbled upon this place quite by accident, and found the owners very very rude. I would never ever stay there nor reccommend it to anyone I know.

NerrigaMatt, Owner at Old Timberlight Guesthouse, responded to this review

It would appear that this response is from a group of people who were trespassing on Old Timberlight property, people like to drive where ever roads take them, not caring whether they are on private property or not. This group did not stay at Old Timberlight but drove up to the main homestead and then turned around and drove off...
