Excellent family local pub, good food, friendly with fantastic outdoor play for children. The food is very good with friendly staff and good service. Outdoor play has everything a kid wants. If staying local this is a must.

We often call at the travellers on a Sunday and just have a couple of drinks. However today we had a drive over and decided to have our lunch which is a rare treat for us. The place was bouncing which was great to see as the last couple of times it's been quiet. Once again

Beautiful Sunsets
We have stayed at Rye Hill Farm which isn't far from Slaley and is an excellent B&B with a campsite. From memory it's about £35 per person per night. Rooms are spotless and breakfast is good. We have also stayed at the Manor House Inn, which is a little further away, on the A68, and again is very good. The Crown Inn at Slaley is a community owned pub with accommodation. Have eaten there, but not stayed. Details of all three are on Trip Advisor.

Is it wheelchair accessable?
I cannot recall any steps either entering or inside the pub. If going for a meal I would recommend. If staying there then play it safe and call ahead as as far as I can remember the stairs to the bedrooms are narrow but the staff were helpful and friendly so I feel sure that they would help you up and down.
