We loved our little cottage! The host is so friendly and helpful, he brought our breakfast to the cottage and shared lots of useful information too. The cottage was warm and cozy and with your own sauna to enjoy. The surroundings are beautiful and we timed it perfectly for the snow so we saw it both green and white!
Wonderful cottages by the sea. There is beach right in front of the cottages, water is clear and fresh. Breakfast was served directly to cottage and it was very generous. Our dog liked this place too but you have to inform before hand if you are travelling with your furry friend! Cottage itself is spacious, clean and has sauna in it!
We spent one night here on the way to Lapland and another on the way back to the south. Spacious cottage with sauna in a beautiful area, nice breakfast that is brought to you the night before. The staff is friendly and helpful.
Cottage was really nice and comfortable, even in winter, when it`s -10C outside :) Brakfast was free, inc. milk, boiled eggs, bread, juice, tomaties, cucumber, coffee, porridge, cocoa etc. and the owner brouhgt it to the cottage in the evening.
Very beautiful houses with everything you need. Two double rooms, one toilet (wc and sink) one private sauna with shower. The view is stunning! The owner is fantastic and his breakfast is even better!
We spent only one night here but it was so nice! It was off-season (end of January) so we were the only ones there! Even the reception was closed - we phoned them when we arrived so they told us which cabin it is and how to get in. After half an hour or so the guy came to the cabin to do the paperwork and he brought us huge breakfast with him for the next morning. We heated the sauna and rolled in the snow - remembering not to let the door close, it would've been a long way naked to the next house to make a phone call in case we were locked outside :-) The cabin was very comfortable and cosy and the sauna good. The high ceiling gave the cabin nice spacy feel. Thank you once more to the friendly staff! I hope to return one day but one never knows...
I have visited Lapland in early April this year, it was full of snow - 27 degree outside at 11 pm. and just once I was arrival ,we see the Northern Lights ! It was a wonderful experience nothing can compare and when I get inside the cottage we found that everything is home style and also provide the inside cottage sauna so I tried it and it warms me up pretty well. The bed was great everything is nice and clean we have coffer making machine and toaster and everything we need the breakfast was already prepared in the refrigerator , " It made me feel like home" And specially thanks to Ari the owner of place that has been such a wonderful guide along my trip in Lappimaa. I defiantly recommend this place for family ,couple and everybody who want a good accommodation with peace in good price…
This was a wonderful vacation in the South of Lapland. Owners and staff were just great. Service included a REAL continental breakfast each morning (not just coffee and stale croissants like a hotel). Owners also provided other freebies like snowshoes and anything asked for within reason. Saw a great aurora display there in March of 2013. Cottages are very homey and comfortable. Excellent quality TV for basic channels also provided. There is a sauna ensuite in every cottage. Local transportation somewhat problematic, as it is about 25 km from most of the activities in Kemi and taxis are expensive. So bring your car or rent one. Activities in Kemi include the Sampo Icebreaker Cruise and the Snow Castle/Hotel.
We travelled during the winter of 2012 at Wanha Pappila. The restaurant wasn't available at that time. But the owner delivered our breakfast and dinner at the door of our cottage. We had room service every day .... The lady was very friendly. When we got back from an activity we found snowshoes at the door. We could use them any time we wanted. It's important that you have a car overthere (or that the travelcompany pick you up for activities). It's far away from a big town. But you find peace and nature overthere....
