This hotel is in the middle of nowhere, but the grounds are really nice to relax. Free space until 10pm which is really good. The rooms weren't spacious and the toiletries were weak. Breakfast wasn't great either. Very few options. But staff was nice and it was very reasonably priced.
Me and my partner had an amazing time at this beautiful Manor! Historically interesting place for visitors and tourists with peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Very friendly and welcoming stuff, cozy and comfortable room, delicious food for dinner and breakfast. Swimming pool was nearly empty during our stay, with some people in the SPA area. Would highly recommend this place and definitely will be back here one day!
Do not recommend this hotel at all - booking was done over phone, also several times confirmed via e-mail in advance and at arrival day also had communication with hotel. When we arrived from 250 km away receptionist said that we do not have booked rooms, they were given away as booking was not confirmed in their system. How to explain this to 3 kids who were promised spa?
Mäetaguse is a beautiful manor in the countryside of eastern Estonia, off the main tourist routes. It is tastefully renovated and the spa fits really nice to this old complex. The service was very welcoming and the room elegant and clean. We especially loved the spa area and it was also a real treat to our 2-year old daughter. Another thing that impressed her was the park with all the bear statues. If to whine a little then the TV in the room was really tiny and the juices they offered with the breakfast did not differ too much from the water too much but these are quite irrelevant things. Breakfast itself was actually very good and abundant. So in conclusion a very good experience and I would definitely stay there again if in the area.
Mixed feelings after visiting this Nice Place! The Manor is Very Nice and renovated and have nice Park near by But... Rooms are comfortable and clean, have very small TV-s. Spa is good only with Extra package, otherwise you can spend time together only in Jacuzzi or infrared sauna. Other saunas are separated for man and woman. Spa extra package allows to spend time in private area where is also Jacuzzi and different saunas and more. Aroma sauna has interesting option - from time to time it sprays water with citron flavor to the eyes if you relax and look up - its very strange! Restaurant - I can give 1 star from 5, i live my comments for my self. But the prices and food quality are not ok! Breakfast is Good! Bar is Ok as well!
Mäetaguse Manor is beautiful place with lovely renovated hotel, spa, restaurant & park. Restaurant is excellent quality, very tasty and good variety of food. Great service aswell. Spa is rather small but cosy - nice swimming tracks, hot pools and saunas. One of the few Spas in Estonia what hands out separate towels! Extra points for that!! Rooms are nicely renovated, comfortable beds. Park has also children’s playground. Have stayed in Mäetaguse few times and will go again! Thank you.
Very nice property, we actually didn’t have the chance to stay overnight but we stop for breakfast and the staff was very kind to let us in and enjoy the buffet as we arrived at 11.00am (closing time). Breakfast quality is amazing for the price we paid !! Fresh, tasty, everything you need. Sander the waiter was very friendly and helpful. Thank you very much for this wonderful breakfast. Highly recommended !!
Maetaguse Manor and Spa is a nice place to spend quality time with friends. There are many activities to choose and a very various saunas and pools. The nature in Maetaguse and all over Ida-Virumaa is beautiful.
We spent good times in Mäetaguse manor hotell. We are selebrated our 7-th anniversary there- far far away from big cities. We liked the privacy of this place most- walks in the manorpark, few quests (ther only 24 rooms), we loved the warm spaa.and very friendly staff. We will definitely go back there!
We stayed in the hotel for one night celebrating my birthday with some selected guests. Overall impression was really good. It has some minor flaws though. Web-page. Web page needs improvement. Sometimes you click something and the next page changes language. I could not visit the page of room description with my Android device. It just refreshed the page immediately after I opened the drop-down menu. It worked fine on my PC. Web page lacks good gallery. Images do not give you the proper idea what this place really is. Actually it was better than on those pictures. You do not get the whole menu of the restaurant from the web page. Information is bare minimum. The building. It is an old Manor with nice surroundings but the hotel is not in the main building. It is nicely renovated but lacks the originality and architectural accent. Interior architect did not have the courage to design something unique here. The Reception is in a very small room, but has lots of light and feels welcoming and cozy. Rooms Rooms are really basic. There is everything you need, nothing more, nothing less. Interior design is simple, well done, but boring. The color pick for the bathroom is awful. Rooms were very clean, furniture and materials were not worn out. It seemed like it was recently built. We stayed in the suite but the main difference whith other rooms is that it has two rooms instead of one. Staff Staff was really friendly and helpful. Wonderful experience, I felt like I really was expected. But it seemed that the person at the reception changed every hour or so. We stayed for one night and saw like five people there. They were all very well informed though so it did not matter. I did not have to repeat myself. SPA Spa is small, has only two saunas right now (but it will change), jacuzzy and a 25m swimming pool. It has a certain romantic feel with its brick walls, historic arcs between the naves and large windows with a view to the park. It looks really great. Restaurant Food is simple, has a certain homemade feel, but tastes good. Portions are big enough, after a three-course dinner you will be full. Breakfast is quite basic or actually to call it modest would be overstatement. The Mill Room We rented the Mill Room & private sauna (which are closely connected) and they were better than I expected. The Mill Room is located at the end of the corridor where rooms no 1-6 are and is quite cozy small room with large fireplace, table and lots of old wooden stuff. Quite wonderful place, time flies there. Conclusion. A nice small affordable manor-type hotel with SPA, with basic but up-to-date look which has everything you need. I would recommend it for families or for small group of friends who like to spend a weekend together. Couples who would like to have a romantic getaway or celebrate the annyversary or something may look for a hotel with more premium or fancy feel. But it depends.…
