What restaurant in Chile charges CLP $12,000 for 10 dishevelled machas a la parmesana (baked razor clams) or CLP$9,000 for a bowl of frozen saltless camarones a Pil Pil (sautéed prawns)? Regata does! Add a dollop of really bad attitude from the lead waitress and you leave feeling fleeced and silly for making such a poor choice. Regarding the lead...

a nice place to stay in the the real nice place of pichidangui, you are not in the real center but just a 10 minutes walk to reach all the restaurant, nice little house with a twin bed room and the possibility for 2 more people, kitchen, terrace. a real nice stop when getting back to santiago from the north...

We stayed at the hotel regata in January this year as a special treat when in South America. what a waste of money. We payed an absolute premium price as it was just after New Year's Eve and were nothing short of disgusted with our time there. We were initially charged a US$650 cancellation fee for changing the dates and...

The cabañas are in a relatively large compound with lots of shade and privacy from the surrounding town. The couple that manage the property are extremely friendly and the whole atmosphere is fairly sedate this time of year (first week of December). I imagine it gets a bit more hectic in January and February. We travel with this crazy dog...

We stayed in Pichidangui numerous times on various cactus focused trips to the Atacama Desert. It's an easy distance from Santiago Airport, soon after the Pan American Highway reaches the Pacific Coast. There is a really nice restaurant about half a kilometer towards the Ocean. For us the main attraction are the cacti - Three species of Eriosyce (E chilensis,...

Definately recommend this hotel if you're looking for a quiet get-away with the family. The locals are friendly (not the busy big city attitude) and peaceful. The area is center to two other popular beaches (La Serena and Maitencillo) which is great for restaurants and shopping. We recommend taking the 30-min boat ride in the bay...it takes you to a...

We staid there, family of four - 5 year old and the other was less than a year old. Really nice grounds, quiet and private, even though the hotel sits right on the main street, in front of the beach. The pool is beautiful, overlooking the beach. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Breakfast can be eaten outside by the...
