A really genuine, friendly, nothing is too much trouble place to stay. Beautiful accomodation in a rural location. Greeted with apple pie and coffee whenever you arrive. Has it's own museum and memorial on the farm. Very knowledgeable and helpful hosts. Also convenient to Ypres' Menin Gate and central to a host of WW1 places of interest. Introduced to Varlet...

There is a multitude of reasons why you should stay at Valet Farm. The farmhouse is perfectly placed to visit the surrounding battlefield sites and memorials. The proprietors were very knowledgeable and passionate about the history and the area. The Farmhouse was a part of one of the main battles and therefore has its own unique place in history. We...

Having traveled throughout Europe in 2006 and staying a few days at Varlet Farm, this was the only repeat stop again in 2010 on our 9 week trip. It just had to be. Not a lot has changed, it's still the same incredible B&B, although we did have the new upstairs suite. Charlotte has thought of everything to make you...

As an Australian I have been fortunate to have made several extended trips to the WWI battlefields and connected areas. As a consequence I have stayed in many B&B's in Belgium, France and England. No where have I encountered a higher level of service, accommodation and attention to detail. Varlet Farm provides for everybody - from the historian to the...

The accomodation is superb and if you are interested in WW1 you really should stay at this place. Charlotte is a very knowledgeable lady and is a very good guide...

It is not just the first class accommodation provided at Varlet Farm but all the little inclusive extras, too numerous to mention, as well that makes this place so secial. The genuine warmth and friendliness of ‘mine host’, who is also a very knowledgeable person on local history and places of interest, s a major contributory factor to the comfort...

The information shared with us assisted us in following my father-in-law's foot steps during WW1. Anyone interested in WW1 should not miss a visit!! We will cont. to make...
