The resort is actually not too bad. The beach front area is nice, and the pools are not too bad, but there is clearly a dislike for Americans, both by the Thai staff and the Europeans who own the place. It might be fine for...More
The resort is great for families with young kids (ours are between 4yo and 8yo). There are plenty of activities for them : playground, badminton, babyfoot, the pools etc
It's crowded on weekends and it was very quiet during weekday when we were there (5nights)....More
Dolphin Bay Resort just isn't what it used to be. The 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom apartments are worn down--beds are old, mattresses uncomfortable, kitchen not supplied with enough utensils, and the living room furniture is the same stuff we sat on 8 years ago. It's too...More

I don't remember organized activities. For the two days we were there the pool and nearby play area were sufficient for the kids. But we also did some caving at nearby Sam Roi Yot - if you plan on that make sure to bring the necessary clothing, etc and lots of water/snacks. It's a bit tough for kids but really worth it!
