Detailed Reviews
Great place to stay , the rooms are very well maintained , spacey , with all the little extra bits you would get in a hotel . The breakfast menu is one of the best I've seen for a guesthouse , lots of choice on offer , and everything served is of high quality . Thank you Patricia for the warm welcome and all the attention towards your guests .

My wife and I stayed at the Mountain View Guesthouse in Galway for eight nights. We would return any day. Patricia was so kind, helpful and resourceful. The house itself is beautiful, spotless, and has all the facilities travellers require. Wi-fi is very good. The surroundings are great and we had no problems finding the place on our smart phones. There's enough parking space for everyone and breakfast is very good, even for a vegetarian (almost vegan) like myself. There are a couple of nice places for dinner up the road in Oughterard. We discussed our day trips with our hosts and they provided invaluable tips. I couldn't recommend it more highly.

We arrived at the Mountain View Guesthouse to a warm welcome from Patricia, the proprietor.
Our room, on the 2nd floor, was spacious & spit spot clean with a beautiful view of the pasture.
The room did not have a USB port. Make sure you pack an adapter & charger.
I will say that the shower was nice and hot and the water pressure strong!
The guesthouse is 2 minutes to the Oughterard shops & restaurants.
Morning breakfast was perfect. They offer a continental breakfast, Traditional Irish breakfast & eggs & bacon/sausage.
If you like a good strong dark coffee, you are going to enjoy your morning at the Mountain View Guesthouse.

The room was super clean, has a lot of comfort items to make you feel at home, very comfortable, and the owner Patricia was amazing. She went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this guesthouse for anyone visiting Connemara. She was extremely accommodating and served our breakfast earlier, as we had early ferry to go to Aran islands. So this was a big plus. The service was exceptional as well. Would definitely send a friend there. Great location, easy to get in and out of the city. The guesthouse is well maintained. The beds were very firm, too firm for my liking. The breakfast was too good, felt like staying at the parents house. I, especially, enjoyed the view of the sunset.

Loved our stay! After our extremely long travel day we were welcomed into the B&B with smiles. Room was great for 4 people and bathroom shower had amazing water pressure. Quiet/relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast was delicious both days. Patricia was extremely friendly and suggested places to visit in the area, which all ended up being highlights of our trip. Highly recommend staying at this facility.

This was a convenient stop between Connemara and the Cliffs of Moher. This lovely B&B is excellently run by Patricia, who is very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Her husband also makes perfect eggs for breakfast!
The room was spacious and clean, although my husband and I shared the small bed and left the twin. The bathroom was clean and modern, although for Americans like us the shower attachment was a bit foreign. However, we were able to get clean!
The B&B is also close to Oughterard, where we had a terrific meal at Powers Thatch Bar and Restaurant.

Absolutely lovely little inn. We were looking for something a bit more remote during this leg of our trip, and the Mountain View perfectly fit the bill. Patricia made us feel instantly welcome. Aughnanure Castle (impressive) is just minutes away by car as is the town of Oughterard. Patricia's dinner recommendations were right on point. Breakfast was the best we had at any B&B during our trip in Ireland. We would absolutely come back and stay here again.

We booked Mountain View based on the reviews received and what a brilliant choice.
Patricia made us feel so welcome and recommended a lovely pub in the village where we enjoyed a quality, cheap meal.
The view from our room was lovely, and the room was absolutely spotless. The radiators were lovely and warm and there was constant hot water for a long soak in the bath.
Breakfast was beautiful and I think its the first time in ages that we've come away from somewhere without having anything negative to say at all!!
The other thing that really stood out was how clean Mountain View is, I tried to do my "Four in a bed" check and could not find one speck of dust anywhere. I even noticed that Patricia kept popping into the dining room to clean the filter coffee pot (fabulous coffee from my coffeeholic husband and a lovely American man called Bob!).
We would have no hesitation in recommending this guesthouse and two guesses where we will be staying on our next visit to Galway??
Thanks Patricia, really enjoyed the stay.

Mountain View B & B is a quiet, comfortable B & B about a half hour from Galway, operated by hosts Patricia and Richard O'Connor. On our recent family trip to Ireland, they were the most open-hearted innkeepers we encountered. Their welcome reminded me of visits to my Midwestern cousins. Their B & B is spotless, with comfortable beds, crisp linens, and--important for us and our young adult offspring--good wifi. Breakfast was ample and tasty.
Two of us played golf nearby, while the others took advantage of the pastoral setting, walking down the road toward Ross Lake, enjoying the sights of stone walls, roosters, donkeys, horses, cows, and more than a few dogs.
After our late-evening dinner in town, we were met with the unwelcome surprise of finding the car park where we'd left our car gated and padlocked. The owner of the pub where we'd eaten drove us back to Mountain View, and he and Patricia went to bat for us with the café owner who'd done the deed, after which Patricia took us back to retrieve the car. Above and beyond!

Stayed at the mountain view for 3 nights., wish it had been 30! The nicest experience of the trip! The propierters (Richard and Patricia) went out of there way to make us feel special, the food was out of this world and the scenery magnificent. Will definately be back and will recommend the mountain view to everyone in Switzerland. Yolanda Bern, Switzerland
