I've stayed here a few times before and found it very clean and comfortable. It is convenient for public transport and also has a good size car park. The onsite Harvester serves good food. The room was very spacious and staff friendly. Would recommend.
Visiting for family event and chance to visit London. Easy to park, easy access to London via bus and tube, helpful and friendly service at reception...thanks Tom!....maybe a little in need of a spruce up but perfectly great for our requirements I.e a clean comfortable bed for the night and reasonable rates for London visit. Would come again rather than staying in central London.
We were up from Eastbourne for our eldest grand-daughters wedding which was in the church adjacent to the hotel. Free parking (ask reception for permit) I had to ask about parking after someone stated it was a park & display and purchased a parking permit from machine, then another guest said reception give out free parking permits. Whatever you need ask reception apart from the parking issue they were great.
This is your average Travelodge. It is supposed to be budget rooms, but that’s not our experience. We paid more than other hotels but got less. The rooms have 1 socket extra for you to use, assuming you are watching the TV, boiling the kettle and warming the room. This day and age is disgraceful. We stayed in the accessible room 2 and even though we spoke to the receptionist about unacceptable noise from walking, doors and conversations nothing was done about it. You can imagine after 3 nights we needed to go home for a good nights sleep. We had ample room for my electric wheelchair but because it needs charging we struggled with keeping our phones and laptops fully charged. The bathroom is of a good size, but shame the bath is tiny, I request Ba’ath for me to lay down and let my aching joints relax. In these baths it’s impossible. All in all I wouldn’t recommend Travelodge, they have rapidly gone downhill. Even if money is tight, you can get better for your money.
Ironing boards and hairdryers are not bookable but the staff went above and beyond to get me an ironing board on the evening I arrived, and to have the first available hairdryer bought to my room the next morning as I was attending a wedding at lunchtime, fantastic!
