I loved pretty much everything about our stay at Glen Cove—Pauline and Brian's hospitality, the cute cat that hangs out looking at guests like they're intruders, the friendly B&B dog (barely around but cute), the laundry drying on a clothesline out back, the infrequent traffic, the cozy bed, and the electric shower. Yep...electric shower (still now sure how it works, but it works...and works well). The food was good enough and served very politely, but the hospitality was great. The only downside to Glen Cove was its proximity to the highway, which was about a 1/4 mile away; I'm being picky on this one, but it was noticeable at times. Otherwise, Glen Cove deserves high praise. OH—and here's the upside to being relatively close to the highway—its proximity provides easy driving access to nearby adventures (e.g. Cliffs of Moher).…
On arrival till we left Pauline and her husband were so friendly and welcoming. The room we stayed in was beautiful and relaxing. It was like a home away from home. The food choice was lovely and the spread was beautiful. Food always was piping hot .Highly recommend Glen glove
We've stayed at this B&B in the past and were very happy with it so since we were in Ireland again, we decided to stay at this location because it was familiar but we did not even need to stay in this town - we could have gotten a head start on our way back to Dublin instead. We were in contact with the owners several times because we were arriving a little later than planned. Never did they say that they were having plumbing issues (which they had just had some plumbing issues two years earlier when we stayed there last). So we get to B&B, drag our suitcases up to the door and the owner comes out and says he has plumbing issues that he tried to resolve himself instead of calling a plumber and now we need to go stay with someone else "right down the street - same type of house". Well we drug our suitcases back to the car and followed him for at least 10 minutes and come to a house that is no where near the type of house we had paid for. It was clean and the woman was a very, very, kind woman, but the house was so outdated, the beds were so uncomfortable. It was like having a nice Marriott room rented and having them tell you that you have to go stay at the Red Roof. I think I cried, I was so upset. Here we thought we were going to see old friends and we got a very bad deal. This woman told us that there has been continual plumbing issues at this house so I don't know why they don't get it fixed rather than deal with it for years. We didn't get much of a breakfast but she did end up cooking us a little something which she didn't plan on doing. Really, she was a very kind, very kind lady and that was good but these folks need to get it together and do better by their guests. We won't be back - that's for sure.…
From the moment you arrive and with such a genuine friendly welcome, you feel at home here at Glen Cove. Easy to find and great location from the main road network and close proximity to Ennis, we had two nights here at the beginning of July primarily so we could visit the Irish Open golf on the Thursday. Wonderful couple, very chatty, local information, very homely, delicious breakfast, super clean room, this was the perfect place to stay when near Ennis. Brilliant day at the golf and two restaurants that we would recommend in Ennis, Cloisters and Knox. Quiet location, plenty of parking but its the outstanding hospitality that shines through here, thank you.
We were 5 friends celebrating our 60th birthdays. The rooms were clean, well equipped and afforded all of us privacy. Brian and Pauline were gracious hosts. The breakfast was great. The home was a 10 minute drive into Ennis and a 15 minute drive to Shannon Airport.
Brian was so accommodating from the moment we walked in the door! He sat us down with a hot pot of tea while he gave us some suggestions on places to eat in town. He even dropped us off in Ennis so we wouldn't have to call a cab! The breakfast was great and just what we needed to start our day. They also have an adorable dog named Jack and he kept a watchful eye over the house!
We really enjoyed our stay at Glen Cove, the owners are friendly and helpful, and the rooms are spotlessly clean. Breakfast was delicious and set us up for another day of exploring. We’d happily recommend staying here to anyone.
Beautiful Sparkling Clean B&B in such a peaceful setting but less than 2 miles away from start of Ring of Clare Sportive, which was ideal 🚴🏻🚴♀️. Lovely Room & the owner was so welcoming. She went the extra mile for us so we could have an early cooked breakfast too, which was truly delicious 😋. Thank you so very much - we’ll definitely be back next year. 🚴🏻😍🚴♀️
We arrived at Pauline and Brian's B & B after a long overnight flight. It was still morning, but they settled us into the breakfast room with coffee/tea and cookies while they finished preparing our room. We went upstairs to our spacious room and promptly fell asleep on the comfortable bed which had been warmed by an electric blanket. Lovely! The "continental" breakfast was very filling and tasty. Pauline will continue to bring out food until you beg her to stop. The B & B is outside of town, too far to walk. But the roads into town are good, and we found that we didn't mind the drive. The B & B is in a very quiet residential neighborhood. We could even hear sheep bleating in the nearby fields everyone once in a while. Brian and Pauline are kind, funny and the perfect hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at their B & B.…
Polly and Brian were wonderful hosts! They are B&B is beautiful, clean and well located, just outside of Ennis proper. The beds were very comfortable. Polly served as an extensive continental breakfast which was filling and delicious. We would definitely come back!
