We had a fantastic stay with Willy and his family. We felt like honored guests, the entire family could not have been more welcoming, making us feel like much loved relatives. After a day's work on the ranch, they took the time to host us, feeding us with delicious simple Mexican cuisine, sitting with us, telling us about themselves and... More

This is by far the best option in the region near Yaxchilàn and Bonampak. It is actually worth it to go there and spend a couple of days there relaxing. Great food. At night, you can stay in the empty restarurant in the dark, which it can be awesome.

We have stayed here a few times but not since 2008. It was wonderful to see the new cabanas that Willy and his sons have built. They are totally unique using the local river stone to form walls and bathrooms. All the rooms we saw are airy and quite private and there is a gurgling stream running outside each cabana.... More

I get no credit for picking this place. I was in a tour group. But whoever chose it hit the jackpot for us. Seriously in the middle of nowhere there is this neat little cluster of custom rooms that nearly defy description Each of our rooms was large with different beds, depending. Our was a king and was fair for... More

Come here if you'd like to visit a working ranch surrounded by rather thick jungle. We were a group of 11 people of all ages, and we all had a great time. Highlights: Listening to owner Willy Fonseca speak about his family history, the nearby ruins and the region of Chiapas. Drinking tequila distilled by Willy's family in Jalisco state.... More

My family and I spent here the New Year's Eve and the previous and following day. We spent here a wonderful time: rooms are lovely and very special, the nature all around the ranch is overwhelming, green everywhere and you can hear (and if lucky as we were you can also see) the monkeys too! The food is delicious and... More

My wife and I had a really special time at this unique farm lodging belonging to Willy and his family. Good points: the accommodation was five-star, but the real star of the experience is the location of the place and background. You'll have to go and stay and talk with Willy to find out more, but it's all connected to... More

A Hidden jewel for adventuresome travelers who like a little comfort. Beautiful and originally constructed cabanas of local wood and stone on a working ranch among a clear running stream. Wonderfully friendly Rancher (Willy) and his son Ceasar who eat with you at night under the stars and will give private tours of the area. To get there take a... More

Wow! You'd be insane not to stay here if you're visiting the ruins near Palenque. The area and hotels near Palenque are a lot more commercialized and there are lots of crowds. Parador Vallescondido is nicely situated between Bonampak and Palenque and is gloriously far from the crowds. It's a working ranch in the jungle. Here are the other positive... More
