We got a room placed in a separate building with a big parking area outside. The room was big, two comfortable beds and everything very clean but with a blockage in the hand basin which we solved our self with toilet paper and hot water. Unfortunately, the hotel offered only two small packages of conditioner shampoo in the room. I don’t understand why they can’t offer shampoo and body wash enough for two people. The Internet was very fast; 53 Mbit down and 44 up in the room and faster in the restaurant area! We visited the restaurant in the evening, and they served very good food for a reasonable price. The breakfast was varied and well tasting. To recommend the hotel? Yes, absolutely! But don't forget to take body wash and shampoo with you!
My husband and I were travelling from Rotterdam to Sweden by road and found this hotel in Denmark. We booked for going up and our return journey. We arrived after 8.30pm when dinner had ended, but we asked if there was anywhere we could eat as we had been on the road for 12 hours due to the horrendous traffic through Germany and the bad storms. They very kindly made us dinner and it was lovely. We retired to our very clean hotel room. Breakfast the following morning was plentiful and fresh and we went on our way. We stayed again Sunday evening 15th September. As the food was so nice, we decided to eat at the hotel and again was not disappointed. Very tasty and very filling. All the staff here are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. The rooms are very clean and we would definitely recommend to all. Thank you to all your staff for our very enjoyable stay.…
This hotel is rather remote, though the area is beautiful. The hotel is clean and well-maintained with a lovely garden area and walking trails. The rooms are clean, though the beds are rather narrow. It is also very warm and we found it hard to sleep because of these two things. However, breakfast is brilliant and evening meals, though not fine-dining standard, are tasty. If you leave here hungry, it is surely your own fault!
I was here for a business meeting. The place is very accomodating, the staff very helpful. The food of the buffet is excellent, but I would have loved some desert after the meal. My only negative comment is the dryness of the air in the rooms, especially the bedrooms, but also to a certain degree the meeting rooms
We were on our way to Germany and found this hotel in the middle of nowhere. Countryside not far from the highway. It was great to wake up with sheeps so close. Rooms was fine not to small, bed was good. We came in the middle of the worst summer heat, a fan in the rooms would have been good. Resturant and reception in one house, We got a room in another house, you could park right outside. Breakfast could have been bigger.
Went for the Friday’s Buffet at Fjeldsted Skov Kro, the food was fine very traditional (as you would have expected 3-4 types of meat, reampotatoes and something for the children), though great mixed salads as side dishes. Service is so so (or actually self service) you order what to drink in the ‘reception’, pay for the buffet as well and then you carry to your table, as do you have to refresh your own cutlery/plates between dishes and post dinner, would have been great with a little bit of service like in most places, but perhaps this is country side style... lowers my rating though
We had expected a classical, cosy Danish Kro ! It appeared to be more like a place for schools or company training facility, quite sterile. The dining hall had the ambiance of a railway station ! We had no warning that the rooms were in a different building, which is a nuisance in typical Danish weather. Rooms are simple but adequate.
This Inn is otherwise known as Polle's. I've been to a number of business meetings here and a few things stand out. 1- this is a Danish place! Good danish food out in the Danish countryside. You can drop in for their amazing buffet or ala cart menu. 2- they deliver a solid conference service Finally it is situated well between Sjæland and Jutland.
This was the first stop on our 10 day roadtrip through Denmark and we spent a couple of nights in this Hotel. Actually, I am not sure if this great place is to be considered a Hotel or an Inn. The rooms are located in separate buildings whilst the restaurant is in another so I guess the term Inn applies probably more. When we arrived, we struggled to find the reception - it is in the restaurant and one of the chefs actually took care of us. It is all a bit different but not to worry: very friendly and efficient service. We arrived on Saturday evening and the restaurant was packed with Customers - looking at the buffet I could understand why: a lot of delicious meats, yummy looking vegetables and potatoes. When we got out of the car we knew that we were in the middle of nowhere and that they had some farm animals. Some very strong smells but again, nothing to worrry and much better in terms of air quality than the stuff we breathe in the big cities every day. The rooms are basic but they are clean. We were on the ground floor so I could just open the balcony door in the morning to have my coffee on a chair outside. We had separate beds but they were comfortable and we did not mind. In case you need more towels, a kettle or more shower gel: in the hall of the building you will find everything you need. The breakfast on Sunday was amazing. Fresh danish pastries, lots of different breads, jam, marmelade, cereal, yoghurt, fresh fruit, cheese, bacon, different kinds of eggs, ham, danish salami, fruit juices and so on and so on. An amazing selection and very tasty at the same time. The staff are really so friendly and you feel very comfortable. The breakfast on the Monday was a little bit more basic - probably as many guests would have left or not many people came over from outside just for the breakfast - but still, it was delicious. The Fjelsted Skov Kro is on a big estate and we took the time to walk around, to watch the sheep and the pigs, to stroll around the small lake and the forest. It is so relaxing. During the day we went to Odense and drove around the country side but we made sure to be back early enough to enjoy the surroundings of the Fjelsted Skov Kro. Given the price we really got a lot of value for our money. It was great to be there!…
We drove from Sweden to Middelfart for a concert and spent the night at this wonderful "kro" between Middelfart and Odense (15-20 min. to both). We arrived very hungry and had a wonderful lunch of Danish smörrebröd. Our room had a wonderful view of grazing sheep! I'm sure it is even more charming in the warmer weather. The only thing I really missed was a kettle in the room for a cup of tea on a cold winter night.
