Greenbanks Hotel is situated in the heart of the Norfolk countryside in between East Dereham and Swaffham and it is in a beautiful surrounding with lovely views across the fields. I booked the restaurant for lunch with my husband today as an extended celebratory meal celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. It's the first time we've eaten in the restaurant so...

Have been to Greenbanks with a group twice when visiting relation in Dereham. On both occasions we found the food and service to be excellent. Meat cooked and vegetable cooked as we like them. Did not try the accommodation but might try it in the future.

To celebrate a couple of family birthdays we had a great meal at Greenbanks. We ate there a year ago, picking the restaurant as it listens to your dietary needs (coeliac and diabetic) and adapts its menu to fit, so our return visit was eagerly anticipated and didn't disappoint. Yet again the food was delicious and service excellent. Well worth...

We stayed there for Boxing Day night. There was my wife, myself, and our two daughters ( 20 and 15 ). We had a mini suite which consisted on two bedrooms and a large shower room. We needed somewhere to stay while visiting family over Christmas. We thought the rooms were good. They were clean and big enough, although the...

We stayed here for just a night whilst visiting family and paid £118 B&B in total for the two of us. It was nice and quiet, the room we were in was clean and well decorated and maintained and the staff at breakfast were friendly. However, there was no wi-fi (at least if there was the staff didn't mention it...

Visited the restaurant a few months back with family. There was 5 of us in total. We were seated with our drinks in the conservatory area whilst waiting for our table. The decor was quite pleasant and homely, but I was put off by the strong smell of a cheap air freshener in the corner. Once seated we looked through...

It's an odd one this. My experience was not a disaster, but these days one expects a lot more, particularly in North Norfolk where the standards are generally high. I booked Greenbanks due to all the other hotels in the area being booked up and at £79 a night B&B it's not particularly cheap. Upon arrival, the outside is very...

I recently visited Greenbanks Hotel with my son for a long weekend break, we spent two long sunny days fishing in the carp and silver fish infested lake then took in local attractions and visited Wells Next the Sea, only a short car ride from the hotel. Our hosts couldn't do enough to please us, even when my son caught...

Lovely little complex set in rural setting. Very nice grounds with excellent lightly fished lake. Spacious comfortable rooms. Food excellent if a tad expensive. The owners friendly and had very good booking experience with Julie and particularly good waitress service from Jess. Only negative was lack of any atmosphere in dining / bar area. Usually only ourselves and maybe one...
