I've had to use this hotel for a while, due to work commute. The only reason I kept coming back was because it was the cheapest. However, the conditions I was accommodated in were horrendous and it really affected my mental health. There were often little hairs (pubic?) in the shower and sink; the shower/ bath tub had yellow stains on (let's not imagine what that might have been), the furniture is ancient and broken; the beds (ALL beds, I stayed in many rooms) had springs coming out of the mattress, so I always left the hotel bruised; the shower water often cold, it was a gamble whether I got to have a hot or cold shower that night. I have to say however that the staff was always really lovely and accommodating to me; they even gave me a different room when I asked because the first one was freezing to death. Overall, I think the hotel does have potential, however it needs some investing in it ASAP. The location doesn't help either, I often felt in danger around there.

I don't like bad mouthing establishments but this place has to be hazardous to your health. Wet walls, mould & dilapidated building. I contacted the local council after visiting & even they had a back log of complaints & compliance order's

I don't want to be over critical because I half expected it wouldn't be great due to the pricing, but I just wanted something cheap for an overnight stay some 3 miles from my work. But you'd expect at the very least for the toilet to flush but it didn't, despite removing the cistern lid and pulling the plunger inside with my hand, and it was evident there had been a previous issue with the toilet as there was evidence of some diy repairs with bits of MDF crudely bolted on where the handle meets the cistern. The yale key for the lock on the door just turned in circles clockwise and anti clockwise and would only catch the pins to unlock the door after much fiddling about. On a positive, the bedding seemed clean and the mattress quite comfortable, very squeaky floorboards.in a nutshell I will never book this hotel again, lesson learned, next time I'll pay a bit more and stay at a premier inn or a travelodge.

We booked this hotel through booking.com. The photos of the rooms looked very good. We were attending a Birthday party and booked in about 1 hour before the party began. The first room we were give had 2 horrible uncomfortable beds. Peeling paint. And a disgusting bathroom. We went down to reception and said how horrible the room was and showed them the photos on booking.com site. The second room was better but still not right, but with 1/2 hr to go before the party , we accepted the room. The room had no heating, no hot water. Everything was old damaged and vile. We recommend that this place be pulled down. They should be banned for traded as a hotel. It was a hell hole.
