The hotel has recently become a best western, and after attending as a conference guest a number of times, the standard has skyrocketed. The place is significantly cleaner, the food is improved and just has a generally better vibe about the place. The staff are lovely especially Kayanne on reception who is an absolute asset to the team.

The hotel was in a convenient location for our trip to Alton towers but is very tired and our bathroom was far from Clean!!! On the plus side, the staff were lovely but the whole hotel stank of weed and the mattresses on the beds were clearly years old, we felt like we were falling out ! The bathroom was the worst - very unclean and not acceptable standard Refurb required !!

The staff really were very helpful and welcoming. They were on hand all the time to help with any enquiries and were very friendly - they definitely made us feel at home. The one thing that I would say is the decor was not very modern, but the room was clean and the bed was extremely comfortable.

We stayed here for 2 nights to be close to Alton Towers. Had a triple and a double suite booked. Turned up and the triple room was damaged but Kayanne on the reception desk sorted everything before we even got there so we got a different room and a couple of drinks. Also sorted parking out for us and we all commented on how lovely and friendly she was. I was a bit apprehensive on the rooms after reading these reviews. OK the room wasn't immaculate but it was cleaner than expected and the shower was nice and hot! Only downside is we was right at the front above reception and it was ridiculously noisy until at least 3/4am and seems to be a main route into the town and regularly had police screaming past! So being shattered from Alton Towers it was actually pretty hard to get to sleep. Could also have done with some fans in the room as it was super hot!
